    Nac vs Tudca for liver

When I see elevated liver enzymes the first things I think of is Iron Overload. or Hemochromatosis. Have you had a full iron panel with saturation and ferritin? If it were me, I would get a full iron panel If I have not already

    Do I Need Thyroid Meds?

If it were me, I would do a full thyroid panel with free t3, total t3, reverse t3, total and free t4. I would also test antibodies, and tsh. The average healthy young person really does have a free t3 in the upper 1/3 of the range. So, a free t3 range of 2 to 4.2 (something like that) I would...

    Am I hypothyroid?

Always cortisol, because you can die with out it. Thyroid uses cortisol to complete it's action. So, it will lower cortisol even farther

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

When you do check iron it you need to be off all iron for at least 3 days, some say 5 days. Another thing to look into is the patch md iron patch . Many have very good luck with that

    Am I hypothyroid?

As far as iron , serum iron does not tell you much. You need a full iron panel if you have not had one with saturation and ferritin. Saturation should be 25 to 35% and ferritin should be closer to 70 for Deiodinase activity (thyroid conversion from t4 into the active free t3)

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

The % saturation and ferritin are very low. Those need to come up for deiodinasis to properly occur. Saturation should be 35 to 45% and ferritin should be at least over 50. With levels like that a person would actually have low thyroid at a cellular level. Deiodinases - National Academy...

    Am I hypothyroid?

#1 a acth serum of 35 or less along with low cortisol can often indicate possible secondary adrenal insufficiency. The acth stim test is the wrong test for that and can be misleading for identifying secondary adrenal insufficiency. For SAI you need a ITT or metyrapone stim test. ACTH testing...

    Dht labs....should i worry?

How did they measure that. lc-ms/ms is a better measurement. IS shbg high or elevated too?

    Am I hypothyroid?

That is a conversion issue or possibly a conversion issue, you would figure that out pretty quick if you tried to add in a combo t4/t3 thyroid and reverse t3 went up. Often this is from many things, inflammation, low testosterone, low growth hormone, low iron as these things help with...

    Am I hypothyroid?

Free t3 is the only biologically active form of thyroid. Most healthy individuals have a free t3 level in the upper portion of the range (3.5 to 3.8) somewhere in there. I would gain weight with levels like that. I honestly do not know anyone that feels good with levels like that. TSH is not...

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

Sounds good. I would do the same. . Your on the right track I meant to say, production issue on the thyroid that is why t4 is low. So, I can see why you would put on weight, get well soon

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

Mine is a long boring story. As far as cost I think the Glucagon Stim would be the cheapest. Now, some of that depends upon your insurance and what they require. Now, even if your insurance covers nothing of gh, each company has their own programs you may get gh not too expensive or even free...

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

The free t4 is low and free t3 is a shade low too. Since most of your thyroid made is t4 it is obvious you have a production is. Now, If it were me I would get antibodies tested for Hashimoto's antibodies like TPO (thyroid peroxidase antibodies) to detect autoimmune thyroid disease. The 4...

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

Lh originally when it was tested it was low, indicated secondary (pituitary or hypothalamus) hypogonadism , so that is why he didn't retest it. Also testosterone will lower that further anyway. The igf-1-the doctor probably thinks that is fine. The problem here having secondary hypogonadism...

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

So, a lower lh is indicative of secondary hypogonadism (pituitary or hypothalamus) The igf-1 being lower like that would indicate a possible gh deficiency but you would need a glucagon or ITT stim to find out. Besides the full iron panel, if it were me, I would want a reverse t3 checked as...

Water Retention and Rapid Weight Gain Caused by Testosterone

You have no testosterone above-I mean-none. With a shbg that high you have very little free unbounded testosterone. I would want to know some things if it were me. #1 Have you had a full iron panel with ferritin and saturation? That is often why guys have elevated shbg (not always-sometimes...

    High SHBG

I don't think it works the other way, low iron =low shbg but high iron can = high shbg With people that have iron overload, treatment does not seem to lower shbg unfortunately. Maybe sometimes it does , who knows.

    High SHBG

Anyone with elevated SHBG - there is genetic causes of this but also a common cause is iron overload Hemochromatosis. If it were me, I would be getting a full iron panel with ferritin and saturation. This is my issue as well and I have iron overload. Liver iron overload is associated with...

Help Interpreting New Labs -- SHBG Increased?

Many guys like me have elevated shbg because I have hemochromatosis (iron overload) that is a common cause of this. So, if it were me, I would want a full iron panel with saturation and ferritin. Liver iron overload is associated with elevated SHBG concentration and moderate hypogonadotrophic...

High Total T and Very low Free T

Direct testosterone for free testosterone is not accurate. Now, testing the total that way is accurate. and I am not sure what your shbg is. Danazol does lower shbg Here is a study on that. They compared doing testosterone alone and combined and danazol by itself, proviron. over month...

    Proviron to lower SHBG?

So, they studied this as far as the SHBG is concerned , lh, fsh, they compared the danazol, proviron (masteron) and They did one or the other, then they combined it with testosterone. Here they give what it did to shbg, lh, fsh, testosterone. over a period of months. You can see what you...

    Sleep Issues with Protocol Change?

Your testosterone is not actually high, it's low as SHBG binds up the actual unbounded free form of testosterone and increases the half life of testosterone. That , of course, makes your total higher. My total was 1100 when my shbg was high at 64 , now since my shbg came down , it is 700...
