Looking for a good thyroid forum

Rhino in addition to way too much Testosterone and Estradiol, your Reverse T3 is high at 25.7 ( 9.2 - 24.1) My RT3 was 28.4 after a serious sinus infection and antibiotics to treat. I'm currently taking 5mcg 2 x day of Liothyronine. Have been on this for 10 days and beginning to feel...

TRT- High Estradiol and bad related symptoms, DHEA, Thyroid.. Making sense of it all?

Yes Doc put me on T3 medication only - Liothyronine 5mcg 2x day. My Free T3 was 3.6 with Reverse T3 at 28.1 and the ratio was 12.8. Ratio needs to be greater than 20. Think you definitely need to have this looked at by a DR who knows how to treat high T3. Dr. Childs recommends T3 meds only...

TRT- High Estradiol and bad related symptoms, DHEA, Thyroid.. Making sense of it all?

    29 y/o considering TRT

The glaring result that I see in addition to your low T is your Reverse T3. It is 30.9 ng/dl (9.2-24.1) which can cause a lot of health issues all bad including sleep. Here is a great website by Dr. Westin Childs - Thyroid Expert that recommends RT3 to be less than 15 ng/dl and lower if...

TRT- High Estradiol and bad related symptoms, DHEA, Thyroid.. Making sense of it all?

If you haven't already had a full Thyroid panel, I would have that done first. If everything is in optimal ranges, then I would have a sleep study done. Could be sleep apnea..... Thyroid.... https://www.restartmed.com/normal-thyroid-levels/ Sleep Apnea...

    Heart palpitations, normal?

Question is how do you feel with these labs? Your TSH is a little on high side but, I don't know enough about Thyroid to comment. I do know that the thyroid guru Dr. Westin Childs recommends optimal TSH of .5-1.0 uIU/ml. https://www.restartmed.com/normal-thyroid-levels/ Love your...

What tests should I request for my symptoms?

As VC said, do a full thyroid panel and pay attention to Reverse T3. I was having a lot of same symptoms and my RT3 came back at 28.1 ng/dl ( 9.2-24.1 ). Caused by a very severe sinus infection back in Jan. Also, my iron is low due to donating every 8 weeks due to high HCT and low iron can...

Do I really need to be taking Thyroid Medicine * (labs)? Also having trouble staying asleep

Yes I am with Defy and this is my very first go around with any thyroid medication. Have to trust the Doc to know what works best. My Ferritin is on low side due to having to donate every 8 weeks and think that has some influence with type and dosage.

Do I really need to be taking Thyroid Medicine * (labs)? Also having trouble staying asleep

Started yesterday with Liothyronine 5mcg tablets a synthetic T3 medication. Dr. recommended start out low at 1 in am and 1 in pm 30 min before food and if symptoms don't improve in 2 weeks, go to 2 in am and 2 in pm. Very good explanation here on dosing -...

Do I really need to be taking Thyroid Medicine * (labs)? Also having trouble staying asleep

Your reverse T3 is too high at 20.2 ng/dl ( 9.2 - 24.1) . I am just now trying to lower mine from 28.1. According to Defy, they like to see less than 15 and ideally 9. The lower the better. Might want to have it retested to see where it is now. I also have same sleep problems you have and...

    Link between TRT and hypothyroidism?

TRT by itself does not cause thyroid problems. What DOES cause problems are low iron levels which come from having to donate blood to keep HCT in line that many of us experience on TRT. Check this link out, no study but several other thyroid websites state the same thing -...

    T3 Only Dosing Advice

Shitn your labs are identical to mine and I too was coming off a round of several antibiotics to clear up a severe sinus infection in January. I have no energy at all, trouble sleeping, feeling cold, etc. all the symptoms. Dr Calkins at Defy tested only the following: Thyroxine T-4 Serum 7.6...

Which antibiotic did you take and do you take a Beta Blocker? I had a very severe sinus infection and only antibiotic that worked was Ceftin. Well, after taking it, I felt awful, no energy at all. Had some Thyroid test ran and found out my Reverse T3 level was very high - 28.1 ng/dl (9.2 -...

Your Vitamin D is rock bottom at 30.6 (30-100). Suggest you might consider V-D3 supplement 5,000 IU daily. Your DHEA is mid range and I know Dr. Saya prefers it to be in the 500 range so you might consider 25 mg day.

    29 y/o considering TRT

[ I have no issues with ED, Gyno, Libido, and other signs of possible hormonal imbalance. I have morning wood once and a while, but my sleep has steadily declined. I go to bed consistently at 9:30pm and sometimes wake up at 1:50am. Other times it can be around 2-3am. My dreams are vivid, but...

Question on EOD Injections VS 2 Times Wk To Keep HCT In Line

OK I've opted for .15ml or 30mg EOD and test in 6 weeks to see where my levels are. Figured this will give me total of around 100 mg a week where I was before. Will report back results. I was hoping there were some high SHBG guys doing EOD with success in maintaining decent HCT levels so...

Question on EOD Injections VS 2 Times Wk To Keep HCT In Line

Vince I may give 10mg day a try if EOD 18mg doesn't work. Very good suggestion. I know you went to daily injections and it helped keep your E2 in line as well as HCT.

Question on EOD Injections VS 2 Times Wk To Keep HCT In Line

Thanks for the feedback FL. I figured nothing ventured nothing gained and if it doesn't work then I can always go back to old injection schedule. I'm wondering if anyone has tried EOD and the results. I know some are doing daily injections with some success with keeping HCT in line.

Question on EOD Injections VS 2 Times Wk To Keep HCT In Line

I am currently having to have a phelebotomy every 8 weeks to keep HCT in range. My old protocol was .25 ml 2 times per week or 100 mg a week. Latest blood test on 2/2 showed ferritin at 40.1 Had a consult with my DR and he agreed EOD will lower HCT and suggested 18-20ml EOD with OK to go as...

    Dosing testosterone with high SHBG

How much T Cyp are you injecting per week? Your Total T and Free T need to be higher. Normally high SHBG guys need at least 1,100 - 1,200 total T to get their Free T in an acceptable range. Your Free T of 11.7 is 1.6% of your total T of 717. If say you increase your total T to 1,100 and...

    Dosing testosterone with high SHBG

I'm a high SHBG guy myself and I am getting tired of spikes in HCT that requires phelebotomies, and also higher E2 which require an AI. I've tanked my E2 a couple of times and it is no fun. Also, had a phelebotomy on 1/3/18 due to HCT at 52.3 on 12/26/17 and believe I've also tanked my...
