Starting NDT and follow up FT3 tests

I feel a little but better since starting NDT. But barely. Body temps are about the same as before. I do however believe that i have adrenal fatigue and will likely need to be prescribed hydrocortisone. I have attached my results of the 4x salivary cortisol test to this post for anyone who is...

Starting NDT and follow up FT3 tests

They want 3 month follow up. But I assume my serum ft3 and ft4 would stabilize at my current dose before then and thus my want to test them (to see if i need to adjust)

Starting NDT and follow up FT3 tests

Hi all, Two days ago I started taking NDT (2 grains per day) and I am wondering how long I should wait to test my ft3 and ft4 to see changes. I have been taking body temps every day and tracking energy as well. Thanks Ken

    Vince's Thyroid Labs from 8/29/2018

What’s your most recent iron/ferritin labs? My ferritin was at 70 a few months back. Been supplementing iron since then and holy man did it ever help me feel better. I’m still not 100% but it made a huge difference. Still waiting to see what my new ferritin numbers say however

Hey guys, i have been diving deeper into the forums here. Reading more about thyroid, iron and cortisol and i remembered something very important from my days of extreme dieting that I completely forgot about. At the time I was dieting and exercising very frequently and intensely i also took...

Chris, i’ve got iron serum and TIBC on the way. Unfortunately i do not remeber which antibody was elevated. I can try to find out. After iron serum, TIBC and RT3 do I need any other labs? I assume I need to get iron/ferritin in order to ensure that T3 is making it into my cells. That assumes...

Had a meeting w/ a doc today (never seen him before). After describing my situation he ordered some lab tests and told me to rebook for a week or two from now to review + full physical. Of the lab tests he ordered, included is TSH, FT4 and FT3. This will be good so I can see my FT3 number and...

Thanks for reply. I’ll have to find those guidelines and use them as ammo in my appt with the Canadian doctor next week. It is a shame that most docs consider numbers in the normal range with symptoms as okay. If symptoms are present that is a good indication that everything is probably not...

For sure thyroid should be looked into more. I’ll try to get TT and FT tested again but “calculated” rather than FAI. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve only ever had FAI done here in Canada. I got FT and Estradiol sensitive at Labcorp in order to schedule a consult w/ Defy. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. I’m in Saskatchewan (Lifelabs). I’ve used that calculator before but wasnt sure of it’s accuracy. If 2-3% is ideal it appears im at about 2%. Hmmm. I FEEL like I definetly need help from medication. I know when i was 16 (before the extreme dieting) i...

Like I said before, my response to synthroid had me thinking that my thyroid issues were completely solved. Worth looking into further to make sure. Thanks

Of course. I’ll do my best to make sure it includes FT3 FT4 TSH and RT3. I assumed since I had such a dramatic improvement in specific symptoms after starting synthroid that it had solved my thyroid problems completely. That could certainly not be true. Hopefully i can get those labs (might be...

Fair. I’ll try to get the full thyroid panel tested next week. Hopefully it shows that it’s all good cause i’d rather try to solve one problem than two.

Is it fair to say that both thyroid levels and/or test levels might be contributing to the symptoms? And the only way to know for sure would be to have those thyroid numbers ran? What would you do if rT3 was highish and FT3 was lowish? Treat that with T3/T4 combo and wait to see if that solves...

Hmmm. Thanks for the link. I gotta say that (about 3 years ago when i started synthroid). I responded immediately and quite well to it. I was amazed at the fact that i was not freezing cold anymore, felt less fatigued, started sweating again during exercise. Thats part of the reason i let me low...

Fair enough, maybe i am reaching with the hematocrit comment. FT was measured fasted in the morning. I would agree that my nutrition had something to do with my health problems starting. Essentially i starved myself and lost a ton of weight very quickly. It’s very common (at least from what i...

Hi guys, I’m a 24 y/o male from Canada. I exercise 6xx/week (3 lifting, 3 sports) and have been doing this for over 8 years. I’m 6’0 and 200lbs (prob about 20% BF). My problems all started about 7 years ago. I developed an eating disorder while trying to “cut” and lose some body fat. I had...
