Anyone got hair laser removal here?

Where i DID have the hair removed by laser, it's never grown back.

Anyone got hair laser removal here?

Now that's odd - i was told back when i had some done that it was permanent as it kills the individual folicles. But i've just googled the question, and even the NHS say it only lasts a few weeks. If that's actually the case, then it's about the same as for waxing, which is much cheaper, less...

Anyone got hair laser removal here?

Yes it definitely works, but i think if you have a large area like the back to do, it'll end up being very expensive (unless the technology's improved, it was a long time ago i had some done). I can imagine for for conditions like PCOS though, it would be ideal.

Anyone got hair laser removal here?

I had it done on my back hair, probably 25 years ago. I was told that it would take three treatments to fully remove the hair, as the folicles grow at different rates. So i paid upfront for three sessions, if i remember correctly that cost me £200. What wasn't made very clear to me though, was...

If you're having issues with the various organic magnesium supplements, you may as well try magnesium oxide. Contrary to popular belief, it performs as well if not better than most of the expensive formulas, and provides higher elemental magnesium, gram for gram -...

    Theophylline to reduce hematocrit?

Just found this and thought it was interesting - maybe drinking lots of black tea for its theophylline content could help reduce hct levels? https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199007123230203

    At Home HCT Tester

Has anyone here used an at home HCT tester? If so, did you find the results as acurate as having blood drawn and tested by a lab? Just found this one on Amazon, i think at around £40 it would be worth having so long as they're accurate...

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

OK, well this study completely contradicts the one above and says that eating with raised melatonin levels can lead to type 2 diabetes. A quote from the study - "In this Timing Model, low melatonin (during eating) supports high glucose tolerance, while high melatonin (during fasting) would...

Do you take melatonin near meal times?

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

Yeah they've got a good reputation, and their range of products is good (i like alternating magnesium types and i'm currently using their magnesium malate). I'm in the UK too by the way, and i've found it's still cheaper to buy from them even though they're USA based. As to other benefits from...

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

Not sure where Nelson gets his gummies from, but i've always liked Piping Rock's range of melatonin (and dhea for that matter). The last few orders from them i bought their own brand regular 3mg pills, chew a couple up, hold them under the tongue for a couple of minutes before swallowing. Any...

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

I literally only stopped my previous 20 year nightly usage of melatonin as i'd read on a blog (suppversity.com) that you shouldn't take it anywhere near meals due to the supposed temporary insulin resistance it causes. But since stopping, i've had minor colds, sore throat etc, something i hadn't...

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

@Vince Vince, i know you've studied melatonin a lot, do you know of any conclusive evidence around melatonin and meal timing?

Melatonin supplements before evening meal - yes or no?

I stopped taking melatonin before bed as i eat my evening meal fairly late and i'd read that melatonin impairs insulin sensitivity. But i've just found this study and (to me at least), it seems to claim the opposite. Am i missing something here? I always liked using melatonin as i felt it...

    Melatonin usage during daytime

Bit late to this thread but thought i'd comment anyhow. The insulin sensitivity issue is why i stopped taking melatonin before bed - i fast during the day, and eat my last (2nd) meal around 9pm. I used to take 3 to 6mg after that before going to bed, and stopped after reading melatonin's affect...

I'm curious what lab you're using - i'm using Southern Ghost, very popular at the moment in the UK

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

Not sure if i have that or not. I do know that my ALP & ALT are well within range. My gamma-gt is raised, but it has been for a few years now. I showed my gp that result, he said i shouldn't worry as it wasn't that bad (the test a few weeks ago was at 79 U/L with a range of 8 - 61 It was a bit...

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

Thanks Cat. Well as you mentioned, i'm not expecting any real withdrawals if i drop dosage slowly. And i'm not sure it'll affect much (subjectively) if i settle on a fairly low dose either - to be honest, even at low natural levels i didn't have low libido etc. I went on, simply because i'd...

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

Thanks for replying Cataceous. I was just a bit puzzled why markers had gone up over 6 months at the same dose (96mg a week split 48/48). The only two things that had changed were my bodyweight, and the vial. Regardless, i reduced Wednesday's dose by 6mg (each mark on the syringe would be 6mg)...

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

Thanks Vince. I've been down the rabbit hole of reading about what is and what's not a safe hct level today, and i'm not sure i'm any clearer as opinions seem to vary so much. My platelets were mid range though, and apparently that's good as it's all tied in with hct risk? So you think my trough...

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

I feel just fine - great libido, erectile function etc. I just worry that i'll do another blood panel in 6 months, and find myself stuck with a sky high hct. I'm not working with a doctor, and i think our NHS turn people away when trying to donate blood with a hct at 54% and over. I suppose, it...

Do changes in body weight affect dose response?

Hi everyone, I put myself on diy trt last September, 2022. I'm (obviously) using ugl testosterone enanthate 300mg/ml, and i'm using Medichecks here in the UK to monitor bloods. My starting dose last Sept was 120mg per week, split 60mg Sun AM / 60mg Wed PM Bloods taken 8 weeks in, trough...

Salt, Healthy Blood Pressure Levels, and Libido: Highlights from the book The Salt Fix

Salt's great for you. I used to get cramps in my calfs, quads, and abs regularly. Since upping my salt intake (iodized), i virtually never get cramps. It also increases my energy and physical performance.

Levels TT / FT / SHBG before starting TRT

So it sounds like you're in the U.K if you're going through Dr Stevens, and your readings were between 12 and 14 nmol/l? I'm also in the U.K, early 50's. For several years, my total testosterone was coming back at an average 8 nmol/l, so approx 230 ng/dl. I put myself on diy trt last year in...

    Hip Replacement Surgery Experiences

Good luck! You're doing better than i am - i saw my (future) surgeon for the first time yesterday. I had seen the triage service in March who said i had to try and lose 9kg before my appointment with him, as my bmi was above the limit for surgery. Well i failed, but i did shift 6kg so thought he...
