Exactly what the urologist did to me - 400mg in one shot. For about 2 weeks after that, I felt horrible. Couldn't stop sweating, heart rate stayed around 100 constantly, etc. That's when I started educating myself and switched to Defy. Couldn't be happier now.
Had you recently taken Tylenol? Mine has been elevated before (it was this last blood work actually) - Tylenol is often to blame. Anytime it comes up a little high, my doc always has me retest in 2 months and it's always been normal again.
Good Evening & Happy Thanksgiving! I've been with Defy now since June or so with this protocol: Mon/Wed 500IU HCG, Tues/Fri 80mg Test Cyp, Tues/Fri 0.5mg Anastrozole / 200 DIM; then was added 5/2.5mg hydrocortisone in August because of Cortisol results. Last month the nurse reduced me to 60mg...
Your free T is pretty low compared to the very high total T. Did you get SHBG tested? In my case that was very high originally with a very low free T while total T was low normal. TRT has dropped my SHBG, my free T is upper normal, and my total T is high (but not as high as yours).
I've been on 80mg Cyp x2 + 500U HCG x2 for about 10 weeks now (and was on 200mg biweekly for 4 weeks before that - was with a horrible urologist). Free went from 6.5 to 19.6 and SHBG has decreased from 80.2 to 62.4. Obviously I'm on the combo therapy, but I've been happy with the effects...
I had a f/u with Dr. Crisler on Tuesday and he told me that would be my last time with him. I too am a current patient and haven't been getting the emails. I'll check my spam filter too.
Here were the results:
DHEA-S was tested, but I was already put on DHEA 25mg twice a day since that was found to be low (101 via blood test) previously.
DHEA-S: 87.3 (2-23)
Morning: 5.6 (3.7-9.5)
Lunch: 1.7 (1.2-3.0)
Evening: 0.7 (0.6-1.9)
Night: 1.1 (0.4-1.0)
No sleep apnea (have had...
So I was just prescribed a "test" for 2 weeks using hydrocortisone (Cortef). 5mg immediately when I wake, 5mg more if I don't feel effect. Then mid-day another 5mg, and an additional 5mg if I feel no effect.
This stemmed from symptoms plus a saliva cortisol test that went morning-average...
Just saw this post - I tried it one time and that was the last. I experienced "sleep paralysis" - about an hour after taking I felt paralyzed, couldn't move, couldn't talk but I was fully awake. Lasted for a few hours and scared the crap out of me. I reported the reaction on FDA's watch site...
I just purchased Phosphatidyl Serine after reading how it can help with high nighttime cortisol levels and am going to try it. I too have suffered from insomnia and waking in the middle of the night. Ambien sometimes works, but never keeps me asleep. Still wake up around 2-3am.
Well I got the saliva cortisol tests back.
AM: 5.6 (3.7-9.5) NORMAL
Noon: 1.7 (1.2-3.0) LOW NORMAL
Evening: 0.7 (0.6-1.9) LOW NORMAL
Night: 1.1 (0.4-1.0) HIGH
I just had my 6 week blood work after starting a protocol with Defy of 80mg Test Cyp x2 weekly, 500u HCG x2 weekly, and 0.25mg anastrozole x2 weekly and 25mg DHEA x2 daily (after a horrible protocol with a urologist). The only other meds I take is Hyzaar 100/25 daily for systolic HBP, Flonase...
