I don't think that's a good way to think about it. It'd be like saying that a woman doesn't have to worry about T levels 3x the range because "think about how much T men have".
Our respective bodies and brains are meant to function at different hormonal levels, I don't think you can make that...
While almost everyone talks about and understands the importance of looking at Free T and not TT to match symptoms with lab numbers, it seems nobody talks about testing Free E2 or/and Free DHT.
I'm thinking of starting to test Free E2 and Free DHT so that I can compare the free version of all 3...
Nelson, have you looked at your DHT (sorry if I missed it)? The scrotal application is supposed to produce much more DHT due to the presence of a high number of 5a-reductase enzymes.
Any idea where your E2 stands also?
Compounded 20% Test cream applied to the scrotum is the only viable alternative to injections, as far as I know. my own doctor switched from injections to that cream and is liking it.
If you're in the US you can get that easily through Empower and another compounding pharmacy (I forget the...
I know that a doctor at Defy told someone they don't like to let anyone go beyond 50pg/mL.
Not sure what it's based on but you have to think they probably have one of the largest databases of bloodwork and associated symptoms out of any clinic/doctor in the world.
I just did, and for my FT to come back at 240pg/mL (24ng/dL), my SHBG would have to be at 70nmol/L, which is not impossible at all since pre-TRT I was at 80nmol/L.
And it's definitely possible my SHBG has rebounded from the low of 45nmol/L after I lowered my dose (higher doses lower SHBG more).
How do you explain my case then? TT at 1500ng/dL and FT only at 24ng/dL (equivalent to 240pg/mL)?
Again my TT dropped ~10% and my FT ~50%, how does that make sense?
I agree, I actually came down from 22mg/day where my TT was 1700ng/dL, FT 370pg/mL and E2 (ultra-sensitive) 70pg/mL (range < 29).
The super high E2 gave me nasty sides; hypertension (serious), bloating, depression, back acne, etc...
I feel much better since dropping to 18mg/day. The weird...
I'm on 18mg/day Test C shallow IM in delts. TT was 1500ng/dL, I haven't tested SHBG this time but before TRT it was very high (80) and last time around 45 (finally within range).
E2 (ultra-sensitive) I'm still waiting for (only got partial results right now).
Everything else is good. Lipids...
I'm having some trouble understanding how different ranges relate to each other.
For example, the non-Dialysis Free T mehod at Quest has a range of 46-224pg/mL for 18-69yo males (Quest Diagnostics: Test Directory).
However the Dialysis Free T range shows 35-155pg/mL on my lab report.
My...
Hi Nelson,
Looking at that post you mention 4 clicks per day. Do you do all 4 once in the morning or 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening?
Do you find it's much more hassle than the injections? for example in terms of organizing sex around the applications, having to plan...
I would strongly reconsider. Crashing your Test levels while going through a divorce, or even in the immediate aftermath, is about the worst possible timing. You're gonna need all the physical and mental energy you can get, trust me I'm speaking from experience.
If you really can't afford it...
No, I'm doing daily Test C injections. Tried everything from 30mg/day (210mg/week) to 14mg/day (98mg/week). I feel best on 18mg/day (126mg/week).
I actually feel better since I found my sweet spot of 18mg/day for Test C. Slightly more energy in the morning and more sustainable throughout the...
