Pain after subq injections

I have been doing injections for a few weeks now. I started with IM but hit a nerve in my thigh and the doc said I can switch to subq. I am using smaller 25 guage 5/8" syringes for the sub q and I still get pain in the injection area for the next could days after injecting. Thy suggested doing the thigh or upper arm. most of the youtube videos I watched show doing in the stomach but the doc said thigh and upper arm are best for subq. while the pain is not as bad as hitting the nerve with IM it is just a little inconvenient. If I have to live with it I can but I have seen other posts that say I should have no pain after.

Could it be the oil causing the pain?

wish i knew. the place I get it from uses MCT oil and I am using cypinate

Some muscle soreness isn't unusual, I would rotate sites.

Since you having so many issues I would definitely try another oil. It's common for members to get reaction from different types of oil.

For subq, most use much thinner gauge needle of 30 or 31 with short length of 5/16. Injection in belly fat

Like many on here, I started with harpoon needles from my general physician and then graduated (mercifully) to 29 gauge x 1/2 fixed insulin needles for shallow IM thanks to the advice of this forum. A year ago I moved on to low dose daily SUBQ and began using 31 gauge x 5/16.

For insulin needles, I had always used the Easy Touch brand. A syringe is a syringe, right? That’s what I thought until I tried BD (Becton Dickinson) brand 31 g x 5/16 x .3cc needle. BD claims on their website that “BD Insulin Syringes with BD Ultra-FineTM needle are the #1 selling brand in the United States.”...
