Do higher test levels not always equal a better libido?

This is so counter-intiuitive to me but I've seemed it claimed on here before. Now sure - if E2 is out of whack or your test is so high that its doing damage, I get that. But why do guys say their libido suffers just from having higher T even when everything else is in range?

Like for example, I have seen a few guys mentioning that when their T is 600 they have a libido, but if its 1000+ they have a dead dick, even with their AI adjusted to keep them in the same exact E2 range.

This makes even less sense to me as back in the day I used to cycle steroids, and more Test always meant more libido.

I am still figuring out my TRT protocol so looking for all the answers.

I am hypopituitary and have been on TRT over 35 yrs. Here is what I now at age 75. I do a 3.5 mgs shot sugQ into my belly fat E3D and this puts my TT level at 800. I also do a 250 IU HCG shot E3D starting the day before my T shot.

I was taking Aromasin to keep E2 in check but stopped after doing the sensitive E2 test. I have BPH so I take a 5 mgs. pill of Cialis / day.

I have rem sleep wood every night and use this to tell how my E2 is doing. Going to high or low kills it.

Off topic, but do you find the Cialis works for the BPH? I have asked may doc and he said it not really good for BPH. I would love to try it as I also suffer with BPH. Im 54. What is your PSA?

try 3mg of tadalafil from Empower daily. it really helped me on that but did not feel good on it so I stopped taking it.

Guys lie. A lot. Knowing that, libido is a broad term to mean many things. Just as in your example, libido and "dead dick" are two different words with different meanings. They're not the same thing.

Yes Cialis works for BPH and High Blood Pressure and if your Dr. says it's for BPH your Health Care might pay for it mine does.

There is definitely a psychological aspect to this as well, which I think Vince was alluding to.
Whether the tool works or not and your drive/desire are 2 separate things as well.
I agree they definitely intermingle and an issue in 1 area can affect others.

It's not the case for me. I've always felt my best with my testosterone levels around a thousand.

Guys in all the yrs. over 35 of them I never got my libido back. I could have sex but had to make it a point to have it.

But then I am Hypopituitary witch means my brain does not tell my body to make any hormones.

I do best keeping my TT in the upper 1/3 of my labs range around 800 - 1000 and my E2 between 25 and 30.

Now just today talking to a friend that works with a lot of Dr.'s that he has a lot of problems with Lab Corp.

What issues are you talkin about, from LabCorp. I've never heard of any. It's news to me.

Yes he has a problem with LabCorp with there E2 test. He says to do a urine for E2.
My understanding is their sensitive estradiol test for men machine was down for a time. I know it's up and running now because I just had my labs done one month ago today.
