Some of them disappear, yes.  Tolerance builds to the stimulant effects, and associated side effects, including anxiety, fast heart rate, insomnia, etc.  Dose-limiting side effects for me have been cognitive impairment with high doses of prop (20+ mg), particularly in the middle of the workday around peak levels, and aggravation of GERD symptoms.  No tolerance seems to develop to these.


I think there are two flavors of cognitive impairment you can experience with TRT: a direct effect of supraphysiologic levels, and indirect effects via sleep disruption.  I think what I was experiencing when I previously quit TRT was the sleep disruption variety, because my dose was not high at all back then (70 - 100 mg weekly).  I have since had periods of good cognition with higher doses, as long as my sleep quality was good.
