I felt no results in the first 2 weeks, but in week 3 OMG! I felt incredible - horny as a teen, super energetic, my depression virtually gone. Needless to say I was ecstatic at this miracle.
Let me begin by saying I am new to T therapy, having been introduced to it by my family doctor (who, I have since discovered, has very limited knowledge). I talked to her about my near total lack of libido, depression and low energy and she suggested T therapy. Seemed worth a try, so I began using 100 mg/gm cream applied to the scrotum 1/2 ml at 7:00 am and 1/2 ml at 5:00 pm giving a total of 100 mg. per day (her recommended starting point). I felt no results in the first 2 weeks, but in week 3 OMG! I felt incredible - horny as a teen, super energetic, my depression virtually gone. Needless to say I was ecstatic at this miracle. BUT. . . within a few days I started to feel worse and worse until now I feel like crap. The doc had done minimal blood tests before I started that did include free T, but no estrogens . My initial total T was 360 total with a free T of 7.9. She ordered new tests after 6 weeks that showed a free T of 32.6 (lab range of 6.6 - 18.1) and total estrogens of 186 (the lab range is 40-115). This was all new to me at the beginning, but I have been trying to educate myself since I started feeling so bad. I asked her why she hadn't ordered E2 instead of total and she said because her lab only does total. She believes that my problem is low SHBG, and she wanted me to just lower my dose. I cut it in half and still felt crappy, though perhaps a tiny bit better. I tried quartering it, but getting an accurate amount is virtually impossible (didn't feel noticeably better anyway). I'm live in a small town 5 hours from the nearest TRT specialist or discount lab (at least that I can find) or I would immediately try to find someone else (anyone know of a good doc in the four corners area of CO?). I would probably just stop now (it's been 10 weeks since I started), but my testicles are now the size of almonds and although I've since learned about HCG, she refuses to prescribe it for me, and I feel like if I stopped I would likely be producing no T and would really feel bad. BTW, she also won't prescribe an AI either. I realize it's my fault by not educating myself before I started (this forum has been a huge help in trying to correct that), but I did, so now just need to figure out what my next step is. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
