Started TRT today due to low free T

I finally found a doctor that looked at my free test level instead of my total test level. I'll be 40 in a few months and have been feeling more and more fatigued lately so had blood work done a few months ago.

Total T 622
SHGB 65
Free T % 1.3 % of total
Free T 8.1

The doctor said my free T was definitely too low and agreed my total T is being inflated by my elevated SHGB level. She is starting me on a dose of 0.3 cc twice a week with more blood work in 4 weeks to check levels.

I'm not sure what is causing my SHGB to be so high but my best guess is my stress level at my job.

Bodybuilder’s see this elevated SHBG after prolonged cutting which amounts to starvation, which increases insulin sensitivity.

A diet mainly vegetables (starvation) can cause an increase in SHBG.

I'm definitely not a bodybuilder and have never completed a bulk or cut phase. Just a weightlifter for about 25 years now. Pretty consistent diet about 1 gram per lb of protein, creatine, basic multivitamins.
