Not sure if I should have started TRT. Need advice

Hello all, I’m a 42 yo male and currently on a TRT protocol of 100mg per week of Test Cyp divided in two doses (50mg) Sub Q without HCG nor an AI. I’m fairly lean and muscular and have been feeling great on the protocol. However, the more I learn about TRT the more I think I may have not needed it. Probably my issue was something else. So here is my story, about a year and a half ago I went to the doctor for low energy and because I was having a few episodes of my erections going soft and lower libido. The doctor did some blood work and tested for Testosterone and thyroid. He only tested for total T and TSH. So not the best doc. My testosterone level was at 540 and my TSH was high at about 8.7. He said my T was good but needed to start me on Synthroid. The Synthroid helped get the TSH down, but I was still feeling low energy and having a bit of libido issues. So he prescribed some Viagra to help. At the same time I decided to change doctors to get a better look at my thyroid. This time I got tested for fT3, fT4, rT3, TSH, and also got my T tested again for total T, fT, E2, etc. My total T came back higher at 640 and E2 at 22. Free T was at about 23 or so. Now I find out they were not bad numbers at all for my age. Something that I didn’t know before. My thyroid still showed it needed more support to get it optimal. Anyway, the new doctor runs an anti aging clinic that believes on optimizing testosterone levels for any man. His view of optimizing is to have you at levels over 850 for total T and over 30 for free T and keeping an eye on optimal T/E2 ratio. So, he recommended I start a TRT protocol that would help with my energy level and to increase libido and improve vitality. He also believed it would help my thyroid. So I decided to start the protocol. I have to say it did helped a lot with my energy and libido. My erections are stronger than ever and I haven’t had morning woods since I can remember. I have been on TRT for about 6 weeks without any side effects nor issues with my balls. However, I’m not sure if this was the way to go for me now that I have learned so much more about it. Maybe my issue was something else. Maybe adrenals, maybe my thyroid needed more time to stabilize. I don’t know. Anyway, now I’m wondering if I should continue with the TRT. Or should I come off of it? I got blood work done and should be getting results soon. I feel great and all, and I had made up my mind to be on it for life. Please give me some advice on how to proceed. Thank you all for your support.
