Hi. I am 46 and struggling with ED issues. I take anxiety and depression meds that have major sexual side effects. I have taken them for many years. I used to be able to "game" the system by taking a few days off the meds. Sexual function would return to normal but I'd get in a bad mental state as the obvious downside. Now, as I get older, I don't find this working very well. I got so frustrated that I went to a doctor and he put me on clomid. I've been on for 90 days now. The first 30 days I felt like a new man. But now I am wondering if this clomid is actually making things worse! Low energy, low libido.

I'm hoping I can get some feedback here. I take a boatload of supplements. I don't know which are useful or just an expensive placebo any more!

SSRIs will definitely lower your T levels. Probably at age 46, a good TRT protocol would be best for you. Especially if depressions meds will be a part of your life.

Welcome to Excelmale. You've opened the door a bit, but in order to have a focused conversation we need some more information. What can you tell us about your pre-Clomid test results? What was measured and what were the values (with reference ranges)? Why, as Vince was noting, Clomid and not testosterone? What supplements are you taking? How is your sleep? Might you be dealing with apnea?

The he more you can tell us, the more rewarding the conversation will be.

I should get more specific, but I don't have much to go on except verbal communication with my Doctor. He said I was around 100 before starting Clomid and I jumped up over 400 after 90 days. I was on a dose of 25 mg per day. He said he was happy to see I responded so well, so he bumped me to 50mg about 2 weeks ago. But like I said, after I began the 50mg dose, the feelings of lethargy and reduced libido kicked in.

I read somewhere (maybe elsewhere in the forum?) that some people cycle on and off of Clomid to mimic the natural body ebbs and flows of testosterone. Having read that, I skipped two doses (yesterday and today), and I feel more energetic tonight. A coincidence?

Also, I should state that I went to a urologist for this issue of ED. I was so frustrated that I didn't feel like my regular physician seemed to take it seriously. Same too with my shrink. She just seems to be unable to grasp how demoralizing it is to not be able to get an erection.

The Clomid has had no noticeable effect on my sex drive or erections (save for the first couple of weeks). I do take Viagra occasionally. I respond well to Yohimbine HCL.

But the other supplements I take are like a laundry list of everything somebody once said was good for libido: pine pollen, maca, mucuna pruriens, cistanche, Korean ginseng, ashwaghanda, l-arginine. I don't know if anything works! I'd love to hear what folks think about these supplements. For all I know, they are all just a bunch of placebos.

Thanks for reading...

Jack, we have some good threads on nitric oxide stacks. You can try a tsp of L-Citrulline and a 1/2 tsp of beet juice powder along with Cialis twice a day for a nice stack.

does that help libido or does it only provide assistance in attaining an erection? I need something that makes me feel horny AND helps with ED.
