I have been suffering from chronic prostatitis for a number of years. I recently came across a study indicating that this may be caused by low magnesium. I supplemented with Magnesium Glycinate 400mg for the past 2 weeks now. Symptoms were alleviated after the first day and completely gone after 2-3 days, and now 2 weeks later still completely symptom free. Hope this helps someone. Following is the study mentioned:

I've been told it's the number one supplement you should take.

I eat a LOT of bananas and avocados, I wonder if that is the reason I do not have these issues. Try doing the natural way and diet adjustment?
The only way you know for sure is by getting your magnesium levels checked. As people get older is harder to digest food properly and many people I know have low magnesium.

I have all my blood work pulled every three months, so I do know mine is on point.

Why, that is a different thing.

Can you post your levels and age?
I am 55 and here it is.
