[QUOTE="Yung4yrs, post: 228404, member: 44078"] I am well outside of normal. It's just me. Son of a dual major PhD. Most would just buy nettle leaf in bottles of caps. I have a setup at home that includes a large porcelain (8") motor and pestle, a capsule loading "machine", and a milligram scale. These things really are not all that expensive. And the motor and pestle also works great for grinding up say Star Anise for a recipe. :) Many supplements are used by health enthusiasts by making a "tea" from dried leaves of some plant, say Yerba Mate. I am not an "earth" person by disposition and don't like herbal teas, alfalfa sprouts, etc. However, what I do is buy a one pound bag of cut and sifted Nettle Leaf from a company that makes it for said purpose. I grind a bunch of the cut leaf up. Then I load the powder into capsules. I've measured out so that I know a size "00" gel cap holds about 280 mg of ground Nettle Leaf and my dose is 3 caps daily. I have found the effects to be better than from bottles of caps from a supplement company. If you needed oregano in a recipe, you could use ground oregano or you could use cut leaf oregano and mash it with your thumb in the palm of your other hand. The flavor is much better using the second method. The reason is that the compounds that contain the flavor are in the oil of the live leaf. It's why fresh basil tastes the best. If the Nettle Leaf oil contains that which is of health benefit, MUCH more of the oil is preserved in cut leaf than in a one or two year old ground powder. So while tedious, it delivers better quality active compounds with a fresh grind, not to mention it's a lot cheaper.
