How do you prevent possible transfer of testosterone (gel) to your partner? (And still have sex?)

Hi everybody,

how do you handle using testogel in a relationship? I seems to me pretty stressful to have no options for spontaneous sex.

After applying one has to wait 6 hrs before showering. After these 6 hrs there is still a risk for contamination (correct me if I`m wrong).

So, how can one use the gel and still have a good relationship, including a sex life?

Any comments are welcome. Thank you!

There really isn't a way to reduce transfer, even allowing the gel to dry, there is still a risk.

The only thing I can think of is if you apply to the scrotum, wear underwear that has a slit in the middle.

Seems that leaves one with only a few options: in the morning, (after showering) in the evening, or taking the gel next day (suboptimal).

I wonder how the people using gel every day can cope with that.

No problems here. If we are gonna have sex in the morning I do not apply until after. if it is later during the day, I shower anyway prior, south TX heat, pretty much shower first anyway

Also a Texas resident, and I agree.
The wife and I usually start spontaneous sex either with the phrase 'wanna take a dip to cool off' and we are nekked in two seconds. We use the pool (summer) or the shower anyhow before our sexual adventures, spontaneous or scheduled anyhow because eVeRy session starts with a long oral session. In fact, we rarely take a showers alone since we both got out hormones adjusted. For perspective I'm 59, she is 48, and we are both tuned up with appropriate TRT. If we are out and about, on a date or shopping or something, and can't start with a shower, or dip in the pool, and one of us needs a 'solution', we just take care of it and say 'Fawk it' to the risk of transfer. I'm not suggesting you carelessly expose your early female partner to test gel or lotion, but in the accidental or 'Fawk it' moments, I couldn't calculate how much I could actually transfer.
This isn't medical advice, just real world opinion after 25 years of TRT.

I can't stand being greasy and purposely sweating. For example, if I'm going to mow the grass first thing Saturday morning, I'll take a shower, scrub off my night sweat / greasy feeling, and go sweat my ass off. Same for gym time first in the morning. (Yea, I shower before and after the gym if it's first in the list of morning 'to do's.
So, if I know I will be drenching in sweat, I'll push my application to later in the day. But only have skipped a day or so because feeling ill. I have a terrible motility issues with my stomach, had an infarct of my mesentery artery during a heart attack years ago, and have days I puke, and bloat all day.

What's the major danger if a small amount of T is transferred? My wife was prescribed T gel but detested her skin "feeling greasy" so she quit. If a tiny bit transfers to her I don't think it's gunna kill the woman...

I believe the reason my wife to be was so amorous was because she was getting transferred from my Androgel. I later learned that my Androgel was not effective for me and went to injections and my wife's sex drive disappeared. Which to me suggests my wife may have hormone issues.

A friend of mine applies his Androgel to his calves because he found his shoulders to have become immune to the gel. He actually says it seems to absorb more readily than even on his arms.

Women's hormone soup is a much more delicate than ours. It's like French delicacy, verses a grilled filet mignon.

She might develop a significantly stronger sex drive.
She might orgasm significantly harder.
She might become significantly more sensitive to clitoral touch.
Her skin may become more oily.
Her nipples may become significantly more sensitive.
She make feel more driven.
She made need less sleep.
She may have a significantly greater work capacity.
She may have a significantly greater recooperation from bouts of exercise.
She may have clitoral enlargement.
Some times just an engorged sensation, sometimes an actual hypertrophy.
Don't look online at enlarged "buttons", it's nothing like that.
Some hair coarseness, look at her mom to see where a post menopausal woman in her blood line would gain a whisker or two.
I haven't gotten to the upside of a touch of testosterone yet.
We are NOT talking about 50 or 100 mg per week, we are talking 2, or 3, or 5 mg week.
To the chap with the wife with low estrogen, have her check her total hormone profile including testosterone.
That way she can strive for the same ratios when she is older. I would bet that her T level is high, and is driving her specific hunger, not specially the 'low E'.
When both are upper ends of the spectrum, that's when the evenings are spicy.
This is not advice, I just knew someone, who knew someone, who read a page out of a book or two. YMMV

No, she's older now so he doesn't make as much estrogen as he did when she could have babys. Went through menopause when she was 50.
