0.4 is actually around mid range. The prog range used to be 0.0-1.0, which I believe is what it should still be, for men. For some reason it was lowered a while back to 0.0-0.5. So a prog level of 0.4 even while on testosterone makes sense. The prog range is so tight that every 0.1 makes a pretty big difference. Having a prog level of 0.4 is basically equivalent to a guy having a 400 total test level, assuming the top of the total test range is 1000. So 400 total T is technically not low, but we all know it’s not an ideal level, and probably not where our bodies want our test level to be for overall proper functioning. It’s the same thing with a prog level of 0.4. Also makes sense that ur level was 0.4 prior to TRT if u are primary hypo. Most prog is produced in a males testicles. If ur testicles were already basically shut down, it make sense that u already had a sub-par prog level prior to even going on testosterone I also had a decently high total T at 26-27. It was around 700. Problem was that my SHBG level was around 55, leaving me with a bottom of the barrel free T Here’s a link to a quick vid where the guy says that most males feel good around the the 1.2 range for prog. He says that if a male comes in with a level of less than 0.9, and is symptomatic of low prog, like anxiety, poor sleep, chronic pain, etc, he’ll try to bump their levels up a bit
