High RBC and HCT when traveling

I am overseas and not coming back till 1/15. I just got my current blood work from defy and my HEMATROCIT is 53, HB (17.7), RBC 6.25 out of 5.80. E2 sensitive 48.2 , prolactin again came high as 29.

Should I be concerned about HCT and RBC specially when I am damn low in Ferratin.....

Should I stop trt immediaty, what's the best approach?

Never stop TRT unless you have tried everything else first and it is a last resort. Donating blood will solve this easily. Starting and stopping TRT every time you are just above or just below a test marker is a guaranteed way to feel absolutely miserable all of the time.

I did email defy and they want me to try the following:

1- continue HCG only 150iu daily...for a Few weeks
2- stop TestCYp completely
3- start clomid 12.5 mg daily with Cabergoline 0.25 mg twice a week after 2 weeks of HCG.
4- NO AI or phlebotomy.

I think dr Saya wants a conservative approach since my prolactin is up while Ferratin is down. I am in a different time zone and I couldn't ask them more questions about the new protocol since they are gone for the weekend.

But can someone help me here please:-

1- Is TestCYp the culprit here and by just stopping it and continuing HCG every day decrease HCT and RBC without a phlebotomy?

2- will my testostone stay up with HCG only?

I thought once the HCT is up phlebotomy is the only solution even if you quit everything one day.

Ok, this post makes a lot more sense than the other thread you started.

First off, take a deep breath and chill...second, call Defy on Monday and get all the answers to your questions.

It's a known fact that TRT can cause polycythemia (increased H&H production above safe/normal levels). Since you mentioned that blood donation/therapeutic phlebotomy was a non-player because of a ferritin deficiency, maybe Dr. Saya took you off the Test to prevent any further RBC production. Relax, and ask him on Monday.

The HCG and the Clomid should help your body to continue to produce its own testosterone, in the absence of the exogenous test (by injection). It may not keep it at the same level as the test injections, but your HPT axis won't shut down completely like it would if you stopped everything cold turkey.

Lastly, the Cabergoline is a dopamine receptor agonist. It reduces the amount of prolactin released by the pituitary gland.

Jackie, thanks much.
I will call them on Monday and discuss.
I have a few questions and will try to ask them in a way that makes more sense:-

- when I am only on HCG for the first few weeks and TestCYp is out for the time being, will this protocol automatically reduce my hemotracit and RBC? Or phlabetomy is a must once these values increase or go up?
I will continue taking supplements and eat iron rich foods, will that not hinder in reversing the HCT and RBC values?

- on the same blood work (drawn last Tuesday) my estrogen sensitive was 48.2, should I have a small dose of anastrazole like 0.15mg or that will also go down by itself after I temporarily give up TestCYp and be on HCG only?

- do you think that I will need anastrazole anymore after eliminating TestCYp and being only on 150iu HCG a day?

Do exactly what the doc from Defy told you to do. Don't over think it, panic, or explore a dozen more "what-if" scenarios... Just do it.

ipi,

It sounds like you are pretty wound up over this new protocol, and I feel for ya man. I agree with ERO, that you just need to calm down and follow Defy's instructions to the letter. Remember that we're not Doctors here...we're just some guys with practical knowledge/experience sharing those experiences. Some are based on medical facts, others...not so much.

The very last thing I want to do is sound like some know it all, blathering away here on these forums. There are some very smart guys here, but nobody here knows for sure all the reasons they started you on this specific protocol. We could speculate, but you really need to get the answers from the horse's mouth. All of your questions are excellent questions for Dr. Saya, when you talk to him on Monday. Let us know what he says.

Short of cutting short your trip and returning to the States, something you're not going to do, your only reasonable choice is to follow the instructions of your doctor. Anxiety and questions are natural, but, presuming you have clearly communicated with the staff at Defy, the directive that they have provided should ensure your health until you return to the US and you can address the other issues that you have raised
