So glad you joined!! It's really cool having someone join that I know from the music side of my life!! I think you could very well be on to something with the thyroid, as it can be grossly misdiagnosed by many GP's. The correct labs will be the starting point ... TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, Antibodies (TPO & TgAb). You can always use discounted labs, and/or I get a discount with PrivateMdLabs.com as well? Or if your GP will run them, better yet? My GP at Kaiser will run most of them, but sometimes Kaiser doesn't have everything in their system. Yes, it was about 40 for me too!! Man, I was down and out, blue, no sex drive, no fun! Low Test was the first item, and then I had to deal with Kaiser's endo, and learn the ropes the first year. I ended up going to a specialist after that, and never looked back. My GP is in-tune with what I do, and we collaborate on my treatments. I'm telling you my friend, you are living in an age where getting older doesn't mean you have to deteriorate. It's just a matter of identifying what is "out of balance", then taking the steps to restore that balance. We'll be chatting more soon ... Side note: I just got a Boss GT100 pedal setup with a ton of great features and a phase looper!! Once I get more familiar with it, I will be rolling it by with my little portable amp.
