The low HDL dilemma (lowest ever @ 39) - labs here. As you can see, a dramatic decrease in total cholesterol and LDL-C on my standard lipid test from prior labs. But why did my HDL sink along with the other lipid markers? I check all the boxes for doing things to raise it (fish oil, niacin, olive oil, etc). What is suppressing it is the question. Could it be supplemental pregnenolone and DHEA, both known to lower HDL? I take both to maintain youthful levels (50mg/day). Studies showing DHEA suppressing HDL: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20139233/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32675010/ Thoughts?
