Exogenous Testosterone and Alcohol

If you do a Google search on "How to Raise Testosterone Naturally" or even casually follow any bodybuilding sites, you'll note that the articles all recommend limiting alcohol intake because it allegedly affects testosterone levels (i.e., lowers test production).

Assuming for the sake of argument that is true [and ignoring evidence that hard alcohol consumption results in a spike in T], does anyone have any evidence that alcohol consumption has any effect on T levels of men on T-replacement therapy? Given that natural test production is suppressed, and injections go directly into the muscle or subcutaneous fat, it doesn't seem like alcohol consumption would make any difference to either total or free T levels, unless it affects conversion somehow.

Anyone care to weigh in?

Okay, it's late for me on a Friday night and yes I have studied this for some time and let me say there is no definitive analysis that says alcohol and/or cigarette smoking can lower endogenous testosterone levels one way or the other as I've seen studies that point to both in conclusion.

I've read papers that said it could and then found studies that countered the previous studies.

Can lifestyles influence endocrine loops...probably depends on what we're talking about in terms of lifestyle.

I don't do recreational drugs...ever...but I do like my adult beverages and I can say from my own experience it never effected me in negative way.

In fact, my libido is at its highest with a night of harder drinking when I wake so there is a Dopamine play in there somewhere.

To each his own when it comes to this stuff...keep everything in moderation...live your life and be happy.
