I figured out what was causing my symptoms when taking vitamin D. I had low vitamin D way back in 2016, doctor never said a thing, started supplementing a little over a year ago. I started having problems, first week was amazing, after a week into supplementing the symptoms start. I figure out I’m not absorbing enough calcium due to type 2 diabetes/GI absorption issues, so my body would start pulling calcium out of my muscles and bones, hence the symptoms, the same exact symptoms I got when taking a calcium channel blockers for blood pressure. I restricted calcium (huge mistake) for nine months, I mean 0 mg 0% or I didn’t eat it. So two weeks ago I started supplementing calcium, hard boners, best workouts ever and stopped after two weeks. Two days later crippling weakness, muscle spasms and twitching, teetering between standing and collapsing into the ground. I eat something with calcium or calcium supplement, brings my energy back, veins get big, muscle spasms, twitching stops and start feeling normal. I’m taking vitamin D at 600 IU, this is the perfect dose for me. I can’t handle anymore than 600 IU D3, anymore and it’s too much. My doctor never advised me on my past deficiencies, so I waste no more time on them for mineral and vitamin deficiencies. From what I read, it’s vague. It says 1000-1200 mg for adults but nothing about how much for someone who has a deficiency or insufficiency of calcium. For how long and how much calcium should I be taking? Thanks
