Beta blockers deplete CoQ10 and melatonin.

I use a beta to help me pass with BP and heart rate when donating blood as I get nervous/anxious and Metoprolol @ 25-50mg works for me in that regard but I don't take it otherwise. The sexual sides aren't worth it.

I agree there so many side effects with Metoprolol, I don't know why doctors prescribe it. I did use it once and a side effects were terrible

My cardiologist mentioned a new he called it new drug for heart failure that I wouldn't qualify for atleast as far as insurance picking it up but he did say that it would calm my heart rate without the "mojo" his words, sides of a Beta. I can't remember the name of that drug.

Been taking 50mg of Toprol XL (Metoprolol) for many years. Was once prescribed atenolol and it knocked me out in the morning and by late afternoon my pressure was up again.....doctor said take another...........that's when I knew I had to change cardiologist ....LOL

Back to Toprol XL. It is time released and you don't get knocked out. If your doctor insists on a beta blocker request it along with 5mg of daily Cialis. This combo works very naturally for me on TRT as well.
