Thus, it is conceivable that in AAS abusers, the left ventricle is forced to perform under conditions of increased stress with a resultant increase in oxygen demand.</em></p><p><em></em></p><p><em>We postulate that chronic use of AAS causes increased aortic stiffness in the beginning.
