Huge increase in libido with DIM

I started taking DIM (2 capsules a day - DIM plus from Nature’s way) and my libido went through the roof (it was already good before starting DIM). So i stopped and resumed a few times to see if it was the DIM responsible for the boost in libido and it seems like it is.
So if you have your lab work looking great but no libido maybe something to try.

I don't recall anyone ever reporting this...fascinating. Was the goal in using DIM to reduce/manage estradiol?

If one gets a boost in libido from the use of DIM I would say it is temporary and when supplementing with it everyday I bet the libido boosting effects would fade especially after using it daily for a while.

My hunch as well. I had a similar, short lived boost years ago when I was experimenting with ostarine which is touted as a libido booster. I tried DIM as well and didn’t have that experience. You say your libido was good to start with. I’d like to see some serious research for guys with low libido.

I still think there are way too many variables for libido. Get a new partner, have your wife get back to her high school weight, or change up your sexual routine and I’d guess that’d increase libido. If a guy is gauging his libido from random erections, masturbation, or response to porn, I have to think it’s impossible to get a real valid result. But, if you think it’s working, then for you it is.

HealthMan interesting results, I wonder if any other members has similar reaction to DIM. I also wonder if the strong libido will be long term.

I added DIM because i was reading about its potential benefits for men on TRT (estrogen metabolism etc) and given I upped my testosterone dosage I would like to avoid increasing my anastrozole dosage and was wondering if DIM could help. This is what I found in Dr Crisler website: “DIM is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) supplement. So is Calcium d-Glucarate. It helps the body excrete estrogen. I’ve had numerous patients tell me its addition made their libido go through the roof. I take 500mg, twice per day”. So maybe there is simething here.

    What brand?

Dr Crisler has some outstanding articles just like this one.

I do believe I'm going to take a trial run with DIM and CDG, again, my protocol and AI use is a little different than the last time I had tried either of those with out any remarkable results.

    Hi Nelson
I am using DIM Plus Nature’s way

Be sure to read the DIM content per capsule. Some have very little DIM in relation to daily recommended amount or compared to other brands.

Agree. Mine claims to have a better absorption and the DIM dosage is much lower.

I used nature's way but found that Smoky Mountain brand is a higher dosage of DIM. I've had good results using this DIM product.

What do you mean by "good results"?

  19. #18
If you look at the actual DIM content between the two Smoky Mountain has a higher percentage then Nature's Way. I have pretty high E2 values due to my T dose. I don't take an AI and never have. So I use DIM to help with E2. Maybe it is pyscological but with the Mountain brand I saw less water retention and less impacts with high E2. I can't say that values actually changed based on lab results though. Just saying they are the same price and you get more for your $$ with Mountain brand.

I tried Smoky Mountain in the past and it did NOTHING for me. I guess YMMV

Have other DIM brands had an effect for you? So, was it just the Smoky Mountain brand or DIM in general? Thanks.

Yeah that is the only one I've tried. I need to try some others. I put the DIM plus on my list.

I am starting to lose water specially around my mid section. I am very lean but have the tendency to hold water specially when too stressed out. Wondering if it is the DIM

DIM is like anything else on the subject of supplements, some people think it works, some say it's complete waste of money, and then there's some that just all in your head either way you play it. When I've taken it before I didn't care for it, complained to my clinic when they added to my AI without my consent, too. But I'm in a little different spot in my therapy from then to now and I'm going to try it again.

I take it daily to reduce the effects of extra estrogen. It does help in my protocol.

As said by most everyone, YMMV. It takes a while to get the effects you want dialed in (1+ years for me). In my case, too much E2= no libido, no erection. Too little E2, some libido, no ejaculation. So if you're in a happy spot, I'd suggest not to bother, but if you can identify the effects as too much estrogen, then DIM is an easy thing to try.

It's nice that some members are having success with DIM, in the past I always believed that it didn't work.

Did you start the CDG at the same time as DIM? And you said you've had many patients report adding CDG made their libido go through the roof, do they report this just on CDG, or on DIM as well?

I am using both together, yes.

not claiming libido assistance, but Myomin (a Chinese herb blend) has been a VERY effective E blocker for me. almost works too well. my T doc recommended it. i actually don't need to take it regularly...but take now and again in the event things get a little soft.
