You might want to address your mental state and depression with an anti-depressant . Did you discuss this with your doc?

I need help getting dialed in

I agree with the response from Gladiator! I was just at my docs who is very knowledgeable about hormone therapy. he said he won't prescribe any AI's if E2 is under 60 or if gyno symptoms are present.

    Biweekly injections

Yes, if you get the testosterone from a pharmacy just inject sub-q with a 31 gauge needle. I use my shoulders and alternate. No pain and you can easily see what you are doing compared to the butt jab with those long needles!

If you take an aromatase inhibitor to block estrogen, that can cause sore joints.

Insomnia help. I have been on TRT for 15 days and can barely sleep.

3weeks in is a bit early. I always waited at least 6 - 8 weeks for re-testing. I had the same problem for years and still contend with the issue somewhat. The biggest improvements in my sleep were due to dosage reductions. I started TRT 11 years ago with 100mg/wk of Test. That dosage puts...

    Testosterone and Insomnia

I can't say I have had my ferritin levels checked. I donate blood every two months to lower hematocrit. Since I lowered my dosage to 50mg/wk, my hematocrit was 48 last time it was checked. At higher dosages, it ran between 51 - 54. My highest dosage was 100mg per week. I guess my body is...

    Testosterone and Insomnia

Thanks. I tried the 5-HTP as well as GABA with no success. I haven't tried the straight Taurine but I have tried supplements that contained it at a much lower dosage. Gives me some more ammo to use! What brand of magnesium spray do you use. I take chelated magnesium but don't see any benefit.

    Testosterone and Insomnia

So you inject daily? I assume you are using insulin syringes. Even so, that is a chore to do every day. If it works, I guess it is worth it!

    Testosterone and Insomnia

Thanks. I took Trazodone for 2 years along with magnesium as well as a sleep supplement called Primal Force's Native Rest. It is a liquid spray containing melatonin, zinc, selenium and Jamaican dogwood leaf. It worked like most pharmaceutical remedies that I've taken where the first 45-60...

    Testosterone and Insomnia

I've suffered with insomnia for over 15 years and have been trying just about everything to get a good night's sleep. Over the past year I've reduced my Testosterone Cypianate dosage from 80mg/wk to 50mg/wk. I've gone from a 920 TT level to roughly 750 making the change. My sleep improved a...

    PSA changes

Thanks Vince! Agreed, the PSA value itself is certainly within normal range for a 63 year old but the change from 1 to 1.4 in just a few months was surprising. I also read that NSAIDS can raise PSA which I was taking for knee pain prior to blood work.

    PSA changes

Recently I discontinued taking Anastrozole (0.5mg/wk) since I lowered my testosterone dosage from 80 to 60 mg/week. My E2 has been running in the 20 - 25 range while total test levels were 950 - 1000. Since reducing my T dosage my last set of labs measured my TT at 750 and my E2 slightly above...

What is the Lowest Dose Protocol That You Find Works Long Term?

The sleeping issues may well be due to the thyroid medication. I have been battling insomnia ever since starting on levothyroxin. I just recently , after 10 years, decided to lower my dosage from 200mcg daily to 175mcg and adding a half tab once per week. I also lowered my testosterone...

What is the Lowest Dose Protocol That You Find Works Long Term?

I've adjusted my dosage over the last ten years from 100mg of testosterone cypianate per week which yielded total T values of 1200+ to my current dosage of 60mg per week split into two pins. My total T on injection days is 750 - 800. I feel great but not quite as strong in the gym as when my...

I am always hot: Is this a high estradiol symptom?

Thyroid can be very tough. One possibility might be the fact that as you age your hormone receptor sites can become less sensitive thus requiring higher dosages. ( Iknow you did reference that however). When you had your thyroid dialed in was your testosterone level about the same? I know my...

Does hematocrit keep increasing after testosterone steady state? How often to check?

I agree with the advice that Vince provided as your DHT level is probably high thus causing the acne. I started out 6 years ago using 100mg of test cup per week with 1 mg of Anastrozole. Total test level was 1280 (240 - 1100) range. I was getting mild acne ( I was 55 at the time) and my DHT...

reducing T dose, how long to steady state?

Testosterone has a half-life of about 8 days. It takes approximately 5 half-life cycles for steady state. So about 40 days.
