Without supplementing anything my preg is about midrange and my DHEAs low in range. I should have added that my experience is based on only two readings with high preg. Both were while on dhea (among other things, so I can't be sure it was the DHEA that was causing it)
I can only talk about my own experiences.
My preg isn't low either and when supplementing dhea gets over range sometimes. I tried it on its own before and it made me loose all wood and interfered with my sleep.
But we are all different.
Pregnenolone will have it's own effect in the periphery, however, it is mainly an intermediate product to much more potent hormones. These are produced in the adrenals or testes in men.
What we can measure in blood is the pregnenolone in circulation. That is a different pool to the pregnenolone...
When I take DHEA it gives me symptoms of low cortisol, dose dependent fatigue, burning eyes. Fatigue can be really debilitating above 10mg. Don't get any heart related sides though.
So I think it directly opposes cortisol in target tissues or it suppresses natural adrenal production or a...
How often do you apply the gel? Only once in the morning? Have you had a morning reading yet?
I am asking since your symptoms are worse in the morning. Maybe the gel doesn't last you an entire day and you're running a lower T number than before.
When I was on androgel I noticed that taking a...
Thank you very much for that. Some of what you said is not new to me, however there certainly are points that I never considered before and will look into further.
As to the threads starting point for going into diet - sexual function. High cholesterol is often cited as a high risk factor for...
What do you consider central to a good diet? Personally, I avoid sugar and processed foods. I eat meat or fish every day but at the same time try to keep my cholesterol below 240-250 which isn't too difficult. But on a paleo diet it easily goes above 300.
High progesterone in connection with low DHEAS might be an enzyme deficiency. If I were you I tried supplementing with DHEA first if you haven't yet.
It is obviously low. It is easier to obtain. It is not shutting your endogenous hormone production down to the same degree supplemental...
Do you have a preferred dose and timing for pramipexole? Were you using/prescribing it continuously or take as needed?
I tried 0.125 about an hour before the occasion. It was my first use of it and am quite happy with the result. I was a bit weary but it was a subtle boost in libido without any...
Progesterone is an intermediate product on the way from cholesterol to cortisol as well as aldosterone. Much of the progesterone produced within the adrenals never enters systemic circulation but is converted into other said hormones within the organ. Some of it however enters circulation...
Yes, I can imagine DHEA converting excessively to estrogen and the latter inhibiting endogenous T.
But wouldn't an AI theoretically help with exactly that?
As hinted to, I was on HC, FC and felt like my younger self again. I stopped it after several months because I wasn't quite comfortable with a replacement dose without DHEA to balance it off.
I just stopped cold turkey and was fine too. It took a couple of weeks to be back at my older self...
Not confirmed by a stim test. But urine tests, dhea values and HC trials as well as symptoms point to it.
It's interesting that you bring up the aldosterone angle because that's another avenue I could think of. DHEA, at least in the rat :), reduces aldosterone and whatever is needed to...
Hello all,
DHEA is bottom of range and I would like to bring it up. Problem is, it makes me lose wood at rather low doses from 10mg up.
I am not on TRT and having weak adrenals. DHEA above 5mg does only work in combination with HC.
My working theory is that DHEA increases estrogens and that's...
