Way back in my TRT journey, the itching/sensitive nipples were a warning sign to me that gyno was just starting, which anastrozole helped with. However now, I believe I have some residual gyno lurking (very tiny spot behind my nipple), and it is painful right away when it starts acting up. A...
I know a lot of low vs high estrogen symptoms are very similar, but it's weird that low estrogen in you causes gyno. I've only ever heard of gyno with high estrogen or high prolactin. Do you personally think it's a receptor issue, or that you just don't produce adequate amounts of estrogen...
@BigTex From a simplistic and amateur view....
Your old protocol was 750mg of TU/month
Your recent protocol with Cypionate comes out to be 240mg/month (40mg every 5 days)
You are taking less than 1/3rd the amount of testosterone per month, so I think you could definitely raise it, and your...
@DixieWrecked are you still taking the MSM, and if so have you still noticed joint relief from it? Do you think the MSM just relieved pain, or actually helped your joints? Also, do you think glucosamine, chondroitin, or cissus contributed at all to any relief?
I'm currently dealing with some...
Do you happen to know if any of the low shbg guys that take higher doses also take an ai? I have low shbg as well, and definitely do better on higher doses. Finding the sweet spot for estrogen is the problem.
That's awesome to hear, I'm glad you are feeling better!
What was/is your TRT protocol, specifically have you ever used an ai? Since your shbg has been low while on TRT, have you ever had estrogen related problems?
I've had low shbg since starting trt as well, and it's hypothesized that guys...
Do you feel any different (better/worse) that you notice? I'm sure if their are positive effects, it could be from better blood markers, fat loss, etc. from the keto diet itself.
I'm wondering if a going from a lower shbg (like myself) to a higher shbg made any impact on how you feel on TRT...
So according to this information, do you think therapeutic phlebotomies are a waste of time if hct and hemoglobin rise very quickly after a donation? In other words, if my body has created a new set point due to trt, the best way to lower hct is to lower the set point by reducing the dosage?
Why do you think you are now having issues at much lower dosages?
When I started TRT 8 years ago on 200mg/week (Dr supervised), my hct rose to 53-55, but then would settle back down to 50 from time to time, and even then I felt zero symptoms.
I have a related question for anyone that may have experience with donating blood due to high HCT/Hemoglobin. I don't want to derail the thread, but thought this info would be useful for those interested in HCT issues.
How long after a donation would high HCT symptoms reappear? I know that if...
@pfuked Is your total weekly dosage of anastrozole .5mg (.25 2x/week), or is it .5mg 2x/week for a total of 1mg/week?
Also, your test dosage is 2x/week of .32ml...which equals 128mg of test weekly (assuming it is a 200mg/ml bottle). Is that correct?
What you are describing is close to what I...
My shbg is usually around 17. When I've done a few "reboots", my shbg goes up to around 25.
I've been trying lower doses with no luck, and just went to 150mg/week in one shot, and am awaiting my hcg script to come in. In the past, when I first started TRT, I was on larger single doses of test...
@TescoValueJam any progress of finding something that works for regulating your E2, or a protocol that works for your low shbg?
As I mentioned earlier, I have low shbg as well, and am trying to figure out the best approach.
@BigTex Have you tried, or are you doing TUT?
I tried it about 8 years ago (age 38), and I was unimpressed. I had a great pump through the workout, but my muscles seemed flat a day later, and halfway through the week felt like I didn't even work out that muscle group.
However, last week I was...
Thanks Vince!
I guess the true question is: do my thyroid labs tell me that I need treatment?
I believe @DixieWrecked is asking the same question.
My endo says no, the primary is unsure, and the TRT clinic says "go ahead and try it"..LoL
The endo does not even test RT3 and they said it is...
I've titrated down to 80mg/week in split doses, which didn't work out too well.
I've also looked into Jatenzo, but my insurance won't cover it, and is unaffordable without insurance.
I've tried combos of 80mg-160mg of cypionate 1x,2x, and 3x per week, subq and IM, hcg or no hcg, ai and no ai. Right now I'm on 160mg per week (split mon/thur), and hcg.
I started TRT 8 years ago on the typical clinic protocol of 200mg/week, with hcg and ai, and I felt better than I do now...
I've asked this in another thread, but wondered if others have experienced this with thyroid meds and high RT3.
My main question is, has anyone experienced sexual symptoms from high RT3? My main complaints are ED, lack of sensitivity, and severe delayed ejaculation. I've also had some recent...
Yes, zero testosterone. Strictly clomiphene/enclomiphene only.
The common advice is that clomiphene can not overcome the HPTA suppression caused by exogenous testosterone.
For me, the enclomiphene gave me great sperm numbers, but my testosterone never got over 300, so I didn't really feel...
@ziggy256 I've had very similar symptoms without having an enlarged prostate. I've had PSA's from .9 up to 1.7 (on higher doses of testosterone), and I am 46.
I've had a couple DRE's in the past few years, and recently had a cystoscopy. I'll probably never do a cystoscopy again...it hurt like...
I think you said earlier, to counter this effect you take T4 or NDT, correct?
So basically T3 helps you, but not your dick, but adding T4 or NDT helps counter this effect of T3 on your dick?
I'm trying to pin down if the lack of sensitivity and ED is from high RT3, or from thyroid meds, or...
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
At least I'm checking things off the list. It is possible that I'm not eating enough, as earlier this year I was cutting calories, however I'm back to eating normal. Another possibility is that I just need to be on thyroid meds longer, as 6-8 weeks may not be long...
How much selenium are you taking? I've also heard it's good for RT3, but don't know the dosage.
Very true...TRT is hard enough without throwing RT3/thyroid problems in the mix.
I'm just not sure if elevated RT3 can cause sexual side effects for guys already on TRT, or if the effects of high...
@DixieWrecked What symptoms, if any, did you notice from higher RT3? Did you stay on Armour Thyroid or take Cytomel?
I'm wondering if any of my sexual symptoms are from high RT3, or from something else? My main complaints are ED, lack of sensitivity, and severe delayed ejaculation. I've also...
