I quit cold turkey after being on TRT for 5 years. My pre TRT total T was as low as 180. While I was on TRT my number was around mid 700’s to just over 1000. I am now 5 years off of TRT and my recent bloodwork showed my total T to be 740.
what do I attribute this to? Lifestyle changes and...
I developed sleep issues about 6 months in on TRT. battled with it for nearly 5 years, trying all sorts of things and finally gave up. My issue was that I would wake up at night and not be able to fall back asleep.
I quit cold turkey nearly 2 years ago and my sleep quickly returned to normal.
No. In fact one thing that is interesting is that I now have erections that go on all night long even though I’ve been off TRT for going on 2 years now. I basically have morning wood throughout the night. My libido is not the same though
Ressurrecting an older thread I started over a year ago.
Like my original post says I was on TRT for nearly 4 years and had all sorts of problems. The details are laid out in the previously posts and links.
I went off TRT in November 2019, so it has been almost 2 years.
My BP, HCT, HR all...
resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has any new insights on dealing with sleep issues while on TRT.
I was on TRT for nearly 5 years and quit cold Turkey 14 months ago because I could never get my sleep issues under control. I had tried just about everything out there, and eventually, the...
Good luck- you are awfully young to have BPH symptoms already. This doesn't usually happen until you are in your 50's. If it is prostate enlargement, there are things you can do for that. One thing to consider is a Prostate Artery Embolism procedure- where the doc deposits beads into the...
I tried just about every protocol out there. My last ditch effort was low dosing.
my fatigue issues did not totally go away. I am realizing that diet also is an issue. While I do eat fairly healthy, I am finding that eating a low carb diet, really watching my sugar intake, and also...
I would wake up at night and not be able to get back to sleep. At times I would also feel my heart pounding. This poor sleep made me very fatigued.
All of this went away almost immediately once I stopped TRT.
I tried low dose protocols at the very end, but never daily injections. It's possible by then my body was just messed up and nothing was going to work. I could consider starting up with that and see how I do, but don't know if I want to go there.
I was on injectables for almost 5 years and finally gave it up 14 months ago due to poor sleep that I could never correct. Since going off TRT my sleep has normalized, but I do miss the benefits I had while on TRT. Has anyone had any sleep issues while on creams/gels? I was thinking maybe...
I was on TRT for almost 5 years. I suffered sleep issues for around 4 of those 5. I tried everything to fix it. In the end the only thing that worked was quitting TRT.
I used to wake up only once a night to go pee. Sometime around the age of 52 about a year into TRT I suddenly started waking up more than once. Overtime I noticed that I would have difficulties getting back to sleep on the second wake up. Investigated everything- BPH, apnea, pelvic floor...
I was on TRT for over 4 years. Quitting cold turkey really wasn’t that bad because my sleep was so horrible at the end of TRT and I started sleeping better almost immediately. It has now been a year since I quit and continue to work towards better sleep. The biggest thing is that when I wake...
I tried it all. Even dropped my dosage to 40 mg Test Cyp 2x a week but continued to have sleep issues where I would wake up and not be able to get back to sleep.
It has now been almost one year since I quit cold turkey and my sleep is finally great. I've incorporated some supplements like...
Yes I quit cold turkey. It really wasn't that bad. I think weeks 3 and 4 might be the worst but nothing horrible, especially since my sleep improved almost immediately.
I ran into this problem and tries for years to find a solution. I tried adjusting my dose of Test down, adjusting and even eliminating HCG and AI. I also tried other supplements. Nothing worked. Finally I quit TRT and my problems went away.
I'm still tempted to go back on TRT. I've been...
I did it cold turkey. I have now been off for around 10 months. My libido came back at around month 5 or 6 but it still isn't great, then again, I am now 56 years old so i have no idea what is normal at this point.
The biggest issue was fatigue. The worst was probably week 3-5 I'm not a big coffee drinker but I started drinking caffeinated products during the restart and it helped a lot. My libido also went in the crapper for a while- several months, but did come back.
I stopped cold turkey after being on TRT (doseage varied from 100 mg to 200 mg a week of testosterone cypionate along with HCG and AI) for over 4 years. The recovery period was tolerable

Male coronavirus patients with low testosterone levels are MORE likely to die from COVID-19, German hospital finds
I was on TRT for over 4 years and quit cold turkey. I took my last dose first week of November so it has been going on 6 months. I was tired and caffeinated to help get through it. Took naps. Weeks 3-6 are probably the worst but weren't horrible. My libido took a big hit for several months...
It is possible you are having the palpitations at other times but are just not aware. I had the same issue. Keeping my dosage low seemed to take care of things but Eventually I gave up and quit TRT
