Thank you for the detailed response, @wondering. I will look into HC.
I did a thyroid panel early 2020 and a few months ago, did a ton of research to read them and consulted with my Defy doctor. It's not an avenue I'm interested in pursuing anymore.
Interestingly, I have been able to sleep...
High E2 really disrupts my sleep, so I use an AI as needed, but just taking the pill has no immediate effect.
I used to do edibles because they last longer and kept a vape pen on my bedside table in case I woke up anxious in the middle of the night. Would take a small hit and went right back to...
I've never tried hydrocortisone. Can you explain?
Thyroid is normal-to-optimal, did a full panel last year.
Pandemic ruined my exercise regimen, but I've been lifting for years. Definitely helps, but not a cure.
First of all, I'm really sorry you're going through this and hope you've found some help.
I haven't had good (natural) sleep at any point in my life for a consistent amount of time. I'm 40. Spurts of 6hrs/night here and there. I probably with physiological/neurological delta-wave disruption or...
Wow thank you for taking the time to respond and share what you've found out so far. I really appreciate it.
I'm not too worried about the water retention quite yet, it comes and goes and it's mild. What made me consider it was the possibility it was related to the other symptoms and it could...
Fatigue/feeling out of breath subsided after a phlebotomy.
Anger/volatile emotions subsided by going back on a daily regimen and reducing my overall weekly dosage to 119mg.
Ankle swelling still present...
I tried it. It's incredible. I keep the rest of my bottle on hand for specially busy weeks. But I stopped it because I don't intend on being on a cocktail of supps for the rest of my life.
CBD, besides being an anti-inflammatory, is also an anxiolytic. If CBD has helped your sleep measurably, it might be worth considering lowering stress and other forms of mental health improvement like exercise, therapy, etc. so you don't rely on supplements long-term.
I know for me, I can take...
I second what fifty said about sleep places pushing CPAP. This happened to me about 5 years ago. If your insurance covers it, by all means give it a shot, but it's incredible how quickly they push you palliative devices without even looking at underlying causes.
112mg Cyp/week (16mg daily).
I'm due for labs in about a month, haven't checked since I started CPAP. It's likely it will help some, but HCT has consistently gone up since I started TRT so I don't think apnea is the culprit.
I ended up finding a mobile phlebotomist/lab that services the Bay Area but they're quite pricey and I suspect this will be a 2-3x/year thing for me.
My Kaiser doctor is not cooperative. His response is I should stop "this aggressive hormone treatment."
It's the 2nd Kaiser doctor that has...
I live in San Jose and spent hours on the phone and can’t find a place that does phlebotomy...
Can’t donate because I visit Brazil yearly and the area is marked as risk for malaria (ludicrous, but the CDC is paranoid...).
I'm currently dealing with a few things that may or may not be TRT related. I scoured these forums to see if I could find help with no conclusive answers.
Background:
38, 5'11", 205lbs
TRT since Feb 2018, currently 138mg/week (3x) + 500IU HCG (2x) + .125mg Anastrozole 2-3x as needed
DHEA 25mg...
I had the EXACT same issue. Still get it once in a while but my current issue is waking up too early. Some of what I'll say below is for the benefit of other forum members with sleep issues as well.
I'm a lifelong insomniac currently getting OK sleep after a horrendous year. What has worked for...
Just want to jump in quickly with my personal experience:
TRT since February (T-Cyp + HCG)
Jump in libido/function in first 30 days, "honeymoon"
Decline after, lower libido, fatigue, function was meh
Found out my E2 was sky high (60+)
Added AI
Back in business! Libido great, function could be...
Quick update:
After adding an AI, issues improved a lot but sleep still bad.
Just got labs back and my TSH, FT3/FT4 levels are either at or near optimal.
T, FT, and E2 are still high so I'm planning on reducing my dose slightly.
I've a follow-up consult on 07/05, we'll see what they say then.
~4th Month Update
Currently feeling very good. Sky high libido, great energy/focus/etc., great performance at the gym, positive body composition changes. When I get a good night's sleep, I feel AMAZING.
After finding out my E2 was VERY high, I started taking Anastrozole .125mg 2x week. I'm...
My theory is that once you start lifting you notice your symptoms more or you start relating them to low testosterone, whereas before you might chalk it up to garden variety depression. When lifting, you are in a mind state where you’re trying to improve your own body and are, therefore, more...
Thank you for your reply, Dr. Saya.
I used the store and added the follow up panel to my cart ($237 I believe) plus all the other tests and it came to almost $500. Unless there’s a combined panel I’m not finding on my own, I wasn’t able to find a way to lower the cost.
I contacted your staff...
I have my first follow-up consult with Defy and the labs they've requested are double the initial cost projection of $250, to about $500 so I'm looking for help figuring out my options.
I've Kaiser in NorCal and they won't cover labs from outside network physicians. My primary didn't want to...
I recommend checking out Leafly. It's hit or miss, but a good starting point to look for strains that may help.
I would also recommend CBD alone or CBD-dominant strains. They're hard to find and usually more expensive, but worth it. CBD has no psychoactive effects and can be taken safely for...
I know you keep banging on the hypothyroidism drum but I didn’t experience many of the classic hypothyroidism symptoms pre-TRT. Hypogonadism fit better and was confirmed through blood tests. Pre-treatment my T and FT levels were the only anomalies on my labs. My E2 is almost double where it...
Had my consult and got more labs back. Here's an update.
Spoke with a NP who recommended:
- Start .125 Anastrozole 2x week, increase to 3x week if necessary
- If the AI does not ameliorate symptoms, remove HCG and re-evaluate
- If symptoms subside, add HCG back slowly to find ideal dose
This...
@S1W: This is great perspective and I really appreciate it. Sorry you had to deal with gyno... it was awful for me and once I got it removed my life changed.
Labs were drawn on trough, literally right before my next shot. I agree, I’m probably on a too high dosage, but we were shooting for...
Interesting. Thanks for the info everyone.
I just drew follow-up labs but the only thyroid items in the order were TSH and RT3. TSH was normal pre-treament, but I know this is incomplete info. I'll see when I get results back if they'll tell me anything and consider a full thyroid panel.
Even...
