I know first hand of a 76 year old male with congestive heart failure who has improved remarkedly with trt. Before starting his shbg was 90 and free t barely in range. got his free T up to upper range and shbg still high at 82 but the improvement in his overall condition is undeniable.
I too have similar body chemistry with a low low shbg of 9 I dont do great on trt but have improved with a ed injection of 16mg test cyp and 100iu of hcg with an ai of .75mg per week with my low shbg i didnt do well on higher doses of Test
