May I ask how you take the pregnenolone and DHEA?
I have used transdermal pregnenolone in the past and it seemed to have a somewhat positive effect - 15mg applied to the abdominal area.
Just wanted to give an update to this old thread.
I'm doing much better at the moment. I would say that I have pretty much recovered from all the symptoms. Things improved slowly but i'm so glad to be feeling normal again.
Take it easy with the AI's folks!
Take a breath and loosen that bow tie!
Phil is a long time lurker and an admin on many different TRT related forums. I know him from Crislers forum.
He probably doesnt know VC that well.
Well it might be that you are just genetically prone to convert less DHT - via the 5ar enzyme.
If you are on TRT, using gels is the best way to go in my opinion - If you are looking to increase DHT.
The upper scale of the first reference range is too high. According to various sources optimal levels are somewhere around 70 pg/ml which is around 2,4 nmol/l. Then again if you do not have any symptoms theres no need to worry about that.
I had my DHT around the same level as you - around 1...
I have to add that there are few big caveats to this study. First it was done on rats and the timeframe of deprivation was quite long. 15 or 19 months is a long time for rats.
Also the 15 month depraved group was able to recover while the 19 month was not.
Anyways none of us was totally...
Ok. Interesting study. Do you have any idea how long you were deprived of estrogen when you started experiencing symptoms?
I mead the period when all this started.
Well I had those symptoms no matter what level my E2 was. Of course I would feel somewhat worse If I had crushed it to singe digits again.
So you are still off TRT. Have you pulled those labs to see what are your natural levels - including E2?
Look. After several crashes the main symptom for me was apathy and other things related to dopamine - loss of libido, ability to feel pleasure, lack of drive etc.
This happened to me in the past when I had crashed my E2. To only difference was that these symptoms would eventually disappear...
You stopped TRT cold turkey without a proper pct and now you are speculating all kinds of different causes to your symptoms.
For all we know you may not have even recovered properly and the majority of your symptoms may be because of low testosterone levels.
In my opinion you should pull that full thyroid panel - like I wrote you in the PM. A TSH of 3.4 or 4.8 can definitively be an indication of low thyroid function.
Looking at the big picture I can say that I have improved from the time that I started this thread.
I have lesser agitation and...
Lethargy, apathy, anhedonia what ever you want to call it. That has been the main symptoms for me. Like I said it has improved but im still not back to normal. I used to have spaciness here and there but not anymore.
Out of curiosity, have you tried taking mucuna pruriensis (L-Dopa) or any...
There are few caveats to that study. One is that they only gave the animals a brief estrogen replacement therapy. This lasted only two days. You can read this from the full study. We really dont know if the other group would have also recovered their lost neurons if the E2 treatment would have...
In my opinion there's still room for you to lower the dosage. Why dont you lower it until FT levels come down to the upper end of the reference range? Ive always felt agitated when it goes too high.
With your low shbg you could do better when your TT is somewhere around 600-700s.
I think it's important that you pull those labs. You need to make sure that your body is able to produce a decent amount of androgens on its own.
If your levels are below the range that in itself is enough to warrant those symptoms.
The past two weeks have been somewhat better for me. I have done few changes in my protocol but Ill give an update on that later. That said everything related to dopamine is still not back to where it was - my pleasure response is still somewhat weaker.
To be honest I don't think that anyone...
I decided to update my own thread since I feel that Ive made improvements: https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?11486-Did-estrogen-crash-cause-me-permanent-symptoms-of-low-dopamine&p=97545#post97545
I want to make an update to this thread since I feel that Ive improvement quite a bit. Im still not fully back to baseline - where I was in the fall of 2016.
I think that these persistent symptoms that I have experienced were caused by the numerous E2 crashes that happened in a 10 month period...
Well I understand that if you are convinced that anything that lowers or raises estrogen will make you worse, then you really do not want to take the natural route.
Im still interested in your past: Have I understood correctly that you had a healthy levels of testosterone and you decided to do...
nurselyfe why are you on trt if you were not hypogonadal before starting testosterone replacement?
What were your pre-trt levels? If your gonads can produce a decent amount of testosterone on their own, why dont you try the natural route and see how you feel.
Well it depends.
The worst months of "post estrogen crash" were definitively worse than "pre trt". Before TRT I definitively felt very bland and was somewhat apathetic but there was none of that anxious agitation that I had during the first months after overusing arimidex.
Still overall, id...
I found these two studies that are somewhat related to this topic. I suggest that everyone interested in this matter reads the full studies. Ill bring up few highlights from them.
1.Delayed Puberty and Estrogen Resistance in a Woman with Estrogen Receptor α Variant...
Im still interested in your hypothesis on how does the increase of serum E2 cause a permanent worsening of ones symptoms. What do you think is the mechanism behind that?
Well HCG has been the most estrogenic substance that I have used. Usually that - with the doses that I have used - would cause a decent increase in E2. Of course I cannot be certain without lab work.
My current plan is to go back to aveed (Nebido) somewhere in the next fall - If I do not...
Well on paper everything does seem normal. I suppose your morning cortisol could be a bit higher but it's not definitively low enough to cause your symptoms.
Speaking about your symptoms; what do you mean by brain fog? Do you feel that this ordeal affects your working memory?
I still feel...
I was wondering that since we all are now exploring the hypothesis of "estrogen receptors insensitivity", perhaps you - nurselyfe - could give us a summary on this matter? What are the processes that lead to this situation - in your opinion?
You have written few sentences here and there but I...
If the mild response to stimulants is just caused by tolerance then how do you explain my situation? I have a low dose test protocol; I occasionally drink one cup of coffee in the morning; I take mucuna pruriensis perhaps once a month.
What has changed after my crashes is the fact that I get...
