I feel decent on clomid - very inconsistent. Estradiol was done @ my dr.s not Defy.
The results from when Defy ran the sensitive test was 26.4 (8-35 range)
Is there any "rebound" with clomid where my levels would drop sharply after I stop taking it or will they stay elevated for some time. I know TRT has a big drop-off effect. Asking so I know when to do labs.
Still conflicted haha on whether to load that needle.
Just got my last test numbers before making a decision (whilst on clomid 25 mg mwf) - the labs were taken monday so probably the lowest they would be.
Albumin 5.0 G/DL 3.5 - 5.0 G/DL
Testosterone, Total 700 NG/DL 270 - 1,070 NG/DL
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 86.3 NMOL/L...
Nope! I'll get it in the mail this coming week along with everything else. I'm apprehensive to start the TRT portion, but i've tried everything and just want to feel good. After 3 years of low T I can't do it anymore. Recently, it has manifested in terms of muscular pain. Plus 7 years of going...
So when I say my thyroid is low I mean just my FT3 is low. Antibodies are negative
TSH
1.16 uIU/ml
.37 - 4.0
Free T3
2.04 PG/ML
2.3 - 4.2
Free T4
1.41 ng/dl
.89 - 1.76
My SHBG is :
55-75 (off clomid)
60-100 (on clomid)
Appreciate the opinion! However, wouldn't fixing any hypothyroid problems raise my SHBG, thus making even less free test? I only say this because the clomid doesnt work all the time & my vision is starting to get affected. I have tried almost everything under the sun the last 3 years.
Doesn't...
Has anyone treated their low T from using thyroid, DHEA? I just had my consult with Defy & the Dr. wants to put me on DHEA, dessicated thyroid (as well as TRT). I'm hesitant to jump into the TRT @ 25 but I think im going to do it. (Protocol is 80mg 2x/week & 500IU HCG w/ shots) . Just didn't...
Decision made. Going with a consult from Defy. Even if I do things right, the stress of not searching & sifting on my own will be worth the $. Best possible scenario. I also think I can be helped by getting leaner.
Yeah its a good point. I called them on the phone & talked. It would really just some more bloodwork +$250. The problem IMO is a) not going thru insurance which I pay for to get whatever meds I need and b) time.
Also, clomid is pretty low risk from what i hear correct?
Yeah - shes not totally uninformed but relatively. It's tough because a) its all covered by insurance b) wait times are ridiculous c) im not rich which leads to a. No one good seems to be from New ENgland regarding this. I could also stand to lose some bodyfat + put on some muscle. I think a lot...
It's kind of a lot to deal with. I am also getting my varicocele checked on @ end of May. Just a waiting game w/ not so great management. Plus work and things going on in my life. I like it thought! Like I said my low T doesnt affect my work, mood, etc. It's more sexual + body composition related.
For the most part not really. I've had to be super proactive in this manner. I was the one who suggested clomid & to recheck my thyroid panels as well as estradiol & cortisol. My SHBG actually lowered since last test but test is still low. I know clomid raises SHBG but if it helps to bring my...
Thanks! And yes a restart is what is being talked about. My E2 wasnt out of range so I didnt know if it would be a concern.
By the way --The doctor did write me a script for 50mg clomid but only because the that is the smallest FDA dose allowed. She wants to do 50mg 3x per week but only used...
Will clomid increase my estrogen. {I've researched & see conflicting things that it raises E2 but it is also an estrogen blocker?}
Dont know if my estrogen level is high enough for this to be a concern?
Yeah true. I'm just trying to get any opinions i can to make the best informed decision. I want to fully understand everything that anyone says. I also wanted to make sure Chris has all the right information IE: my labs, MRIs, etc. I think he missed the MRI before, etc.
I'm sorry for getting a bit confused, but are you saying that from the tests ive run(MRI + bloodwork) it looks like I don't have adrenal issues or an issue with the pituitary. Because thats what im taking it as.... (Sorry this is a good amount to take in & research) Im trying to best interpret...
I understand where your coming from and see that your trying to help(and appreciate it). But I've done research and stil dont get the "underlying issue in the pituitary" - what do you mean by this. Even if this issue was solved, from questions I asked and what she said, thats won't necessarily...
LABS AS OF THIS AM:
Total T : 270ng
Free T 32.2
Bio T: 83.9
TSH : 3.544
Free T4: 1.19
Free T3: 2.19
FSH: 2.38
LH: 1.96
Cortisol: 20.58
E2: 23.9
The doctor has recommended clomid 50mg 3x per week & levothyroxine 25mg( forgot dosing as I got it over the phone. Thoughts?
Lots of conflicting stuff
"There are some who are claiming that one should first fix any adrenal exhaustion. However, I feel this is likely misguided IF the man is low testosterone in the first place. The above study shows that a man likely needs ample testosterone in order to dampen his...
Gotcha. With my T3 and T4 my TSH SHOULD be elevated, that would mean less of a problem, but because it ISNT, there is concern. *Im piecing it together* Just a lot to take in. I think all of this is kind of started when I depressed for about 3-4 months 2 years ago overseas.
But then again looking at them I only have a couple of the symptoms. I dont have brain fog, my work has not been effected etc. Most of my symptoms related to adrenals are: Tough to sleep thru the night(I also wake up to pee but even when I dont I can wake for a couple mins to toss & turn)...
I have just been doing some further research and it appears I definitely show some of the signs of Adrenal Fatigue. Thanks for pointing that out, this honestly makes a lot of sense as there was a period of time in my life were I was depressed and very stressed out that could have caused this. I...
Maybe im missing what you are saying but isnt it GOOD that my TSH is where its at now -- given that "normal" range are .5-3.0 and closer to 1 is considered "optimal" -- isnt higher TSH correlated w/ hypothyroidism?
