Metformin Decreases Muscle Gain and Strength in Seniors

I looked at metformin and sirolimus. Sirolimus (rapamycin) is not a direct substitute for metformin; they operate through different pathways, with sirolimus primarily being an immunosuppressant and anti-aging compound, while metformin manages blood sugar. While both have anti-aging potential...

Metformin Decreases Muscle Gain and Strength in Seniors

I take metformin ER 1500 mg daily. I've been on metformin for 13 years. The only side effect I've had, it lowered my vitamin B12. If I can get my a1c under 5, I'm going to stop metformin to see what kind shape I can get in.

    Starting TRT Hopefully Soon

Personally, I do not like gel testosterone. It was originally offered to me but I said no, I'm too concerned about contaminating my wife and grandkids. If you do decide on injections there's lots of good threads here. I would start with a really low dose. Maybe 70 mg of testosterone and I do...

Personally I believe yes. High hematocrit (HCT) — defined for men as generally >50-52% — causes significant health issues by increasing blood viscosity (thickness), which restricts circulation and increases cardiovascular risks. Key issues include blood clots, stroke, heart attack, and...

The Coronary Calcium Paradox: When Higher Scores May Mean Safer Arteries

Calcified plaque is stable plaque. It takes one year for soft plaque to become calcified and become stable. During my first 2 years of TRT I donated blood every 8 weeks. I would actually do it before I worked out, I'd like the way I felt after donating.
