Good first Trimix experience, but questions remain . . .

Well I did round two with Trimix with a very conservative 5 unit dose; it wasn't much different at all from the 3.5 unit dose that I did a couple of days ago, leaving me with a 7/10 erection that lasted about 40 minutes. That leads me to believe that I'll ultimately need 10-12 units or more to...

Good first Trimix experience, but questions remain . . .

Thanks Nelson. I'm surprised you use a 27g needle to inject Trimix: I use a 27g to inject my T, which is much thicker than the Trimix. Isn't the idea to use the smallest gauge possible when injecting the penis? Do you notice a greater pain level with the wider needle? I don't think I'm a...

Good first Trimix experience, but questions remain . . .

Hey guys, I'm 69 and on TE for a year. Been on Viagra about 10 years, but it's really not cutting it anymore. Just had my first 25/20/1 Trimix experience, thank you Nelson Vergel for your excellent instruction. I've always had a good response to small doses of any medication (T included); I...

    Testicle Stretching

Can you survive without T though, if your own production has shut down and you can't access exogenous T? And if you can survive, what kind of "man" would you be? I know that most people reading this would suggest that failing to have an adequate T supply available for purchase is entertaining...

    Testicle Stretching

Your reasoning makes sense. I find now that I'm near the 1 year anniversary of starting T, that I'm thinking of many factors. I like the T; it's much improved my body profile. I'm 6'3 and before T weighed 245-250 and now weigh a more muscular 215. I like biking, and it seems that I can ride...

    Testicle Stretching

Well that sounds terrible; thankfully I don't have that problem. I've been on TE (and nothing else) about a year and the two physical things I note about my genitalia is that the testicles are marginally smaller and that they are pulled tighter to my body. I'm not crazy about either aspect...

    Testicle Stretching

Phil, I don't mean to derail the original topic of this thread, my apologies. However I'm intrigued by your and Vacationman's comments on HCG. Being 69 years old, I don't care about fertility; if that's the case then can you tell me if there's any other benefits to HCG besides preventing the...

    Testicle Stretching

Hmmm, I never considered the option of taking HCG; in fact it was never offered to me by my endocrinologist. I've heard that HCG can present it's own set of problems, so I never pursued it . . . but maybe I should? I'm quite happy with my TE and how it's working; maybe introducing HCG would...

    Testicle Stretching

I like to keep things simple, so I don't take HCG, only the T. It's been about a year now and I've had about 20% testicle shrinkage - they're fine, you don't really notice it. But the tighter scrotum bugs me a bit; your point about the body treating them differently because they've shut down...

    Testicle Stretching

While I would never have mentioned it otherwise, the nature of this email addresses one negative aspect of my T therapy that I've noticed. Having been on TE for a year, most results are positive, but one thing that I don't like is that my scrotum is pulled much tighter to my body (like when I...

Doc prescribed TRT - drop HCG?

I've been on TE for about a year; I wanted to keep things simple so I didn't take anything else. I don't care about fertility either, I'm 69 now. Penis doesn't shrink. Testicles are smaller, but not by a big amount, maybe 20% smaller. Maybe they'll shrink further, but right now I'm OK with...

Trimix while on blood thinners like Apixaban?

Nelson, thanks for the responses above. When you say I could be prone to bruising, are you referring to discolorization the size of a nickel or dime . . . or the kind of darkening effect that I saw on images when I input "penile hematoma" - which is truly shocking. Some of the pics are of...

Trimix while on blood thinners like Apixaban?

Hey guys - I'm 69 and have been on TE for about a year, love it. I had a TIA in December and was recently put on a blood thinner / anti-coagulant being 5 mg Apixaban (Eliquis) twice a day, permanently. I saw a urologist a few days ago about beginning Trimix. There's a $300 fee payable before...

Advice About Hematocrit and TRT Dose

Some men do well on lower doses of T; I'm one of them. I'm 69; have been on T about a year and I've experimented with dosages of 60mg/wk to 84mg/wk. I inject every four days and currently am taking 9.5 mg/day or 66.5 mg/wk. At the higher dose, my hematocrit also reached 52 . . . and I had a...

Bausch Health has discontinued production of Delatestryl® in Canada

I just picked up a new vial of Hikma enanthate a few days ago on Feb. 8. Some larger drug chains will likely have enough in inventory to tide them over without running short.

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Yes, TestTube, I'll do that, or something like that. I've taken two 5mgs so far, maybe go to 10 tomorrow but then stay there a month and reassess. Thankfully, no problems with hematocrit and blood pressure. The blood sugar is a bit higher, I'll watch it. Interesting comment on the weights...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

TestTube, I'm thrilled that you're sympathetic to my suggestions, I was getting ready to get flamed from many sides. I'm tried many alternative treatments in my life, with only limited success. As I've grown older I've watched many of my friends and others who have had to choose what treatments...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

These different diet plans come and go. Esselstyn reminds me of Dean Ornish, someone I heavily followed around 2005, likely to my detriment. At that time I suffered a lot of angina, and found that I felt better on the Ornish diet. The belief and hope was that you could reverse heart disease...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Sammy, I appreciate the sentiment; much of what you say is true. In the past decades I definitely cleaned things up, but I've still got a ways to go. I'm trying to set a plan for the coming year so that I can fix things. I'll be changing a lot of my lifestyle; the medicines I take will only...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

I'm aware of the niacin paradox being that excess inflammation may neutralize the benefits of lipid improvements that niacin can provide, resulting in no reduction in heart attack or stroke risk. However, I was and am continually drawn to niacin for the great reduction that it provides for my...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

I've been taking niacin for about 22 years (I think) and up until a few years ago I probably averaged about 3.25 gms/day, which is 6 1/2 500mg tabs per day. At certain points I was up to 4 gms day. Recently, the last few years, I let it slide to 2.25 gms daily; even then my numbers were still...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Mountain Man, I see eye to eye with you on a lot of these things. You're fortunate that you have excellent health and are not tied to these damn drugs that so many older people "need" to take. I've always resisted taking anything, and IF I had to take it then I would take much smaller doses...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Hey Seagal, I'll look into the K2. I don't know exactly how the plaques were visualized, I had a battery of tests including CT scans, MRI and ultrasounds. Niacin always improved my blood lipids, quite dramatically. LDL (100 and under) and Tryglicerides went way down, HDL (55 and over) went up...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Mountain Man, what an interesting post! Yes, the thread has devolved, it was all in the title "Can an older man build muscle while taking statins". Are you taking statins, or are you just talking about an older man building muscle? Secondly, I'm pretty sure your idea of muscle and mass is...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

I tuned into some of his vids, he's the one that suggests cutting out wheat and wheat products in order to avoid heart and stroke issues. Yes, he seems genuine and passionate about his argument. But this is the problem that I encountered many years ago when researching heart disease - namely...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Thanks for the link, I watched the vid with great interest. I'm in the Canadian health care system, I'm not sure of dealing with the Cleveland Heart Clinic, or in fact dealing with anything right now, my head is still working overtime. I remember when heart disease first reared it's ugly head...

Can an older man still build muscle while taking statins?

Hi everyone, I'm a 68 year old on Testosterone Enanthate for one year, love the results on body composition. I've had heart issues in the past, with a successful bypass 13 years ago. I've always resisted statins, and have done well taking niacin the last 20+ years. I was doing really well...

    Initial Consult with Defy

Your PCP wasted your time with the 50 mg weekly protocol and I wouldn't take your lack of response to that as indicative of what TRT can do for you. I would get back on the 100 mg weekly, see how that treats you longer-term and adjust from there. I'm not sure why you would make that statement...

Excess niacin causes blood vessel inflammation and cardiovascular disease

Of course you should discuss something like niacin use with your doctor. In my case, having used niacin for over two decades, I have never met a doctor that knew much about niacin; I have the distinct impression that they've all been schooled (brain-washed) in statin use and would prefer not to...

Excess niacin causes blood vessel inflammation and cardiovascular disease

I started taking niacin around the age of 43, because it was determined that I had severe heart disease. All my blood lipids improved, and my Lp(a) came down. I went another 13 years before I got a bypass. I've remained reasonably well to this day, and I'll be 69 this year.
