TRT for Elderly (80 years & up)

When I was interested in increasing fertility, I consulted Dr. Alan Neiberg, MD He is moderately famous, and he told me one patient of his stopped TRT when he was 90. My mother is 93, I noticed a significant cognitive decline around age 88. I interacted with a lot of my mothers friends...

    Unexpected Fallout of Covid-19 Crisis

unfortunately, a large minority of people refuse to social distance, continue to party and go to bars, etc, and a lot of times it's not practical to social distance. No doubt if you live in rural areas during June, it seems pretty stupid to social distance and wear a mask when at that time...

    Unexpected Fallout of Covid-19 Crisis

I would disagree with your post on several fronts while agreeing with some of it. More a matter of degree than anything. These things aren't black or white. 1) Treatment has improved, I don't think Remdesivir is all the effective, steroid help a lot more, avoiding respirators in general at...

    DHEA Supplementation

DHEA increases in estrogen is strictly an individual reaction. For me, DHEA has no effect on E, my current E2 test was 10.1 (7.6-42.6 range) while my total T was 655 (264-916) and DHEA was 258 (30.9-295.6). The only hormones / methods that increased E was greater testosterone raised E in a...

BHP and Prostatic Artery Embolization (PAE) - MY STORY

Thanks @Orrin Israel for the detailed story. I will likely get PAE in the future, but I doubt I qualify for it right now. My getting up at night is not consistent, usually I get up often3-4 times a night, sometimes not at all. Often I wake up because I have a hard time sleeping all night...

    Blood pressure not in range

Source natural Progesterone cream, I got it from amazon. At first I believe I took too much, and it made me feel oddly dizzy during the day. If you google progesterone cream, there is a lot of controversy about how well it is absorbed, one reason I decided to actually measure my serum level...

Would I benefit from a different type of T?

Your natural levels of 637 total T are pretty healthy, I wouldn't have suggested TRT. Did you have labs from when you were on anything? HCG, testos cyp, have you ever tested SHBG, because your post suggests you suspect high SHBG because of your other levels. The only easy way to raise E2 is...

Would I benefit from a different type of T?

When you say the results are disappointing, do you mean how you feel or you don't like the numbers but you feel great? "Natural labs are attached" what does that mean? Natural labs I would have guessed were labs without any TRT, but your blood test looks like you are either on TRT or don't...

Same Draw - 2 Different Results Quest

So what date matches with the date you know they did the draw? specifically, the date collected ! We can't see the date collected on the bloodwork where you had E2 = 23, it the draw date different? But really, this is the type of question only quest can answer.

What needle length for IM TRT? Thinking of changing from subQ to IM to feel better

I am not sure, it's fairly quick, only 0.35 ml. I would say maybe 45 seconds. I tried my deltoid, I thought it would be easy, but NO, it's a difficult angle and the "wings" on an insulin needle are tiny making it difficult to inject a thicker liquid at an angle. Just hard to push on the...

What needle length for IM TRT? Thinking of changing from subQ to IM to feel better

I looked at the Union Medico Needle Guide Assistant and it's made for insulin injection, the site recommended using 4-16 mm needles, that is 0.63 inch. Unless you have a different model, it's not surprising it doesn't run the needle into the hilt. Though with a 1.5 inch needle, I serious...

No Gym: Quarantine check in and learnings.

Looking for Ways to increase testogel absorption

fwiw, i used dmso to increase absorption in the past, I never determined if it actually worked. Meaning I should have used a fixed amount both with and without dmso. I used liquid dmso, put on the testos cream on and then rub on a dropper of dmso right afterwards. Did you mean if cream...

Avoiding the US and the FDA

There is one cheap way to "test". Inject the stuff and test your total testosterone level. By now, I know what my levels should be at various points in time after I inject. It might not be to 2% accuracy, but close enough.

    Cheapest Way to Order Labs?

One problem with life extension, they don't believe men need the sensitive E2 test. So this test is normally not included in any of their panels, you can order it separately, but it's more expensive than most anywhere else. (I guess because their volume of E2 sensitive is low.) Wholesale...

    TRT/HRT & Medicare / Medicare supplement

That's interesting, I think you got lucky, and it does seem to be a state by state sort of thing. FOr the most part, it's not doctors that are a problem, it's really all caused by insurance companies and lawyers. And often insurance companies and all big businesses use their power to...

    TRT/HRT & Medicare / Medicare supplement

The situation for medicare covering things like TRT revolves around just how low your total T was. And of course following all the rules about prescribing that medicare has. I am sure they will pay for medically necessary treatment, but I am guessing for the majority of us our total T isn't...

    Needles blunted after penetrating vial

There should be no question about whether using a needle to puncture anything causes some degree of blunting. The real question should be, is it enough to actually make a difference in pain perception, which is actually a much more difficult to answer question.

    Needles blunted after penetrating vial

I used to always use two needles, one to draw the oil and another to inject. It's also a little easier to use a bigger gauge needle to draw up the oil. That said, when I use insulin needles I usually use the same needle. I am sure you do blunt the needle a little with the vial.

    Optimal Progesterone level in men?

    Optimal Progesterone level in men?

    Blood pressure not in range

Two things that lower blood pressure for me. Progesterone cream tends to lower blood pressure and enhance sleep. For men, 6-9 mg is enough. I use a spoon that is labeled a pinch, which is between 1/16 and 1/8 of teaspoon. I don't have any stats on how much BP is lowered. Too much...
