Norvasc, a common blood pressure medication, blocks COVID-19

I have been taking amlodipine for a while. It's a generic - hopefully there will not be some frenzied rush for prescriptions.

    Does TRT prevent age-related illness?

I am nearly 63. Recently, I had a slightly torn delt and went to my PT for a massage. During the massage, he was telling me that my tendons were very smooth for my age - usually people's tendons start to become more stiff / thin, and he can feel them as they 'stick out' more. So...

    Taking a Break From Cialis

I don't pretend to be an expert on this class of meds, but my understanding cialis is most effective when taken daily. For more of an ad-hoc basis, Viagra or Levitra may be more effective.

    Taking a Break From Cialis

15! What dosage did you start at, and what kind of history with respect to increasing the dosages with respect to efficacy?

    Taking a Break From Cialis

How long have you been on it? I've been using cialis 2.5mg for about 10 months and it still works fine. 40mg would put me in the hospital.

MMR vaccine may protect from COVID-19 complications

MMR is Safe and Effective Finally, the reviewers report that after more than 13 million children who received the MMR were followed, there was no association between the vaccine and autism, cognitive delay, encephalitis or encephalopathy. Does this prove a zero risk? No. No amount of data ever...

And if you get sick, stay the hell home and don't put our front-line medical staff at risk.

Going from cialis 5mg daily to 2.5

I quite the citrulline when I started the cialis as to isolate for effectiveness. The cialis has been so effective that i don't feel the need to add the citrulline back in. One thing I've found to enhance the effect of the cialis is to drink this bottled juice from a local juice-maker that...

Going from cialis 5mg daily to 2.5

I'm doing 2.5mg daily and love it. No negative side effects, only very good side effects.

COVID-19, Pneumonia & Inflammasomes – The Melatonin Connection

I looked at this. Why should I trust some heavily cherry-picked article written by someone trained as a classical pianist?

Coronavirus COVID-19 Update: Hydroxychloroquine and Other Treatments

A friend on the front-lines of this fight indicated that her hospital was looking at pulling antibodies from the plasma of recovered patients and injecting them into the more critical patients to help them fight the virus. If this has been posted elsewhere here, my apologies.

Have you personally been affected by the novel coronavirus?

My mother is in a nursing home which is locked down. I stay the hell away from places such as Costco, and only go to stores such as Fresh Thyme or Whole Foods that offers enforced "elderly" hours. Even though I'm WFH, I'm actually spending more $$$ because I'm ordering more take-out, gift...

Coronavirus COVID-19 Update: Hydroxychloroquine and Other Treatments

Don't forget that certain people, such as my wife take plaquenil due to auto-immune issues. It would piss me off if she, and others with auto-immune problems cannot get their supply because of all these idiots rushing out to buy it up needlessly as a 'preventive'' measure.

    Advice for high SHBG protocol

Coffee? Damn. Not sure I can give it up - but I don't drink a ton, one medium coffee in the AM to start the day.

Etiology: What do you think caused your low T (hypogonadism)?

Major weight loss over a quick period of time. Went from 160 to 133 pounds in about 2 months.

    Age/blood pressure/blood flow

I'm in my early 60's, and have worked hard to keep my BP under control. But it just kept creeping up and once I hit the 150/90 mark I asked for BP meds. So I started on 5mg daily of ampolidine. That was one month ago. I could see the pattern as my BP dropped gradually from 150/90 to...

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

Nope. Never had it recommended to me, and have no interest to complicate the procedure by adding it.

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

That was my theory - and so I dropped the HCG for a while to see if there any BP benefit. I had my BP under control for the first 3.5+ years but it snuck up on me as I got complacent. I decided to bite the bullet and go with a BP med.

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

I started at once per week, but moved to two injections per week during the first year of injections. I'm more of a high SHBG guy - so my understanding from this forum is that more frequent injections would be counterproductive.

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

So far, happy with the results as far as how I feel. I'll do labs in about a month and see what the numbers are. Note that this is my 5th year on TRT and 4th year of injections. I've found it hard to find that "good" range that I can sustain. I know that I feel best with my trough in...

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

Follow-up: Feeling so much better the past week. 1. Donated blood (had not done so in 2 years). 2. Started 5mg of amlopidine daily- I'm not going to play around with guessing at my blood pressure rise and trying to lower it 'naturally', just going to deal with it. I would prefer to try...

Hematocrit drives Blood Viscosity- Does that Matter in Men on TRT? Effect of Altitude?

Is it only the ARBs like Losartan that may be able to lower HCT, or are there other classes of blood pressure meds that might have the same ability?

Hematocrit - The Cause of My Problem?

    Bad News For Egg Lovers

I agree with you RoneTone. I had the same thoughts - observational study with self-reporting? Nah. Furthermore, how can you narrow down to one specific food item and draw conclusions? Why not correlate with the number of Hostess Twinkies consumed instead? What about the genetics...

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

My Free T is 18.32 (ng/dL). The reference listed on the lab is 5.00 - 21.00. My Free T % is 2.02, reference is 1.5 - 4.20. I have not change my total dosage yet - I only took the lab to figure out where I was. My last full panel was last Oct, and my SHBG was 60.1.

    High Testosterone on only 80mg/week

I'm somewhat confused. I had not been feeling great - as though my levels have been off. My cypionate schedule is 40mg (0.2 ml) on Sundays and Thursdays. So, I went in for a blood test on Thursday before my next injection: Testosterone - 907 ng/dL Estradiol (Sensitive) - 18.7 pg/mL...

I am on Cypionate, do I NEED hCG?

I You said "..used to use it...", what do you do now? I've been using it 250IU 2x a week but I'm not liking it as much as I did when I started with it 2 years ago. I think it's raising my blood pressure among other things and sometimes I just don't feel 'good'. Went on vacation and...
