Unmet needs in care for erectile dysfunction

There is a lot to be said and way overdue about men's reproductive health. The disparity in awareness, attention to and spending on is egregious in my opinion. The difference in government supported expenditure is immense. Would reproductive rights not be an applicable argument for men? Men's...

    High Iron - Low Ferritin

As far as I know, the C282Y and H63D are the only problematic variants in terms of hemochromatosis and a conundrum in balancing with TRT. @FDV70 could shed more light on that probably.

    High Iron - Low Ferritin

Get genetic testing done by 23andme or another such service. It will reveal if you have a variant for the HFe gene, which could confound your expectations for TRT.

    Best Sleep Supplements

Best relaxing initial sleep I get is with 5mg hydrocodone and 5mg Valium. Unfortunately, not something MDs feel comfortable prescribing. Some of the best sleep with the most refreshed feeling I've had has been following some surgeries. I almost look forward to them! Can't beat...

"Raising ferritin fast" protocol - no meat??

    B. No, that test won't tell you if you have hemochromatosis. You need to get genetic testing for HFe gene. There are two main variants. Highly recommend you don't do anything before you do this. Fred Vorck's protocol (Raising Ferritin Fast...) is insightful, but there are caveats to...

Warning for Men on TRT: Low Ferritin is Bad

On TRT, I felt off, mildly like being disconnected from self. That has since gone away and I feel more like my one, familiar self again, however, tired lack of energy. I hope to improve that as iron levels normalize and I exercise more.

Warning for Men on TRT: Low Ferritin is Bad

I believe anyone concerned about ferritin and iron levels should know their genetic composition regarding HFe gene. The variants or combination of, may lead one down the wrong path. For now, I've stopped TRT since I discovered being compound heterozygous for C282Y/H63D. Ferritin levels went...

Referral to TRT doc in San Diego

@wig surf Do you have labs before starting TRT? Iron saturation? You may have genetic factors with HFe gene that is contributing also. TRT can push up lipids, iron and lower ferritin.
