How can testosterone affect cognitive performance?

The main reason I started TRT was due to mind-fog and memory problems. Low T (total and free) was confirmed with blood tests. TRT did not do much for me mentally. Then I explored thyroid issues and it turned out I was low in Free T3 and high in RT3. Supplementing with Cytomel made all the...

    T3 with Coffee

When I first started on thyroid meds I would wait a couple of hours before coffee. Nowadays I take my T3 and T4 with water as soon as I wake up and then wait about 30 minutes before coffee. My blood levels are no different. I still wait a couple of hours before eating anything.

    Keeping a medication reserve

I've been lucky with my doctors in agreeing to prescribe a little more then I need for TRT and thyroid. For example my prescribed Test dose is 120 mg/week, but I only use 84mg/week. So over time I build up a comfortable surplus so I will hopefully be able to bridge any gap in issues such as...

Who is currently taking Thyroid medication ?..

My experience was similar to yours. I started with Defy for TRT management, and they checked my thyroid levels and added T3. I was 56 at the time and no doctor ever said anything about my thyroid. It turned out that everything was "within range" but my RT3 was 23 [upper limit was 24]...

Who is currently taking Thyroid medication ?..

There is very good info in past discussions here. Do some searches and you will find a wealth of knowledge. It helped me tremendously as I was starting both TRT and thyroid meds. To answer your specific questions: 1) did you notice an increase in energy level ? - Yes - especially later in the...

Im a COVID ICU nurse. Ask me (almost) anything.

Lots of interesting info here - thanks. Have you had any experience dealing with people that have a compromised or suppressed immune system (ie. transplant patients)? Are they treated the same way - both preventative and when ill? I have a close friend in this category and I hesitate to offer...

My Personal Account Of My Becoming A Member of The "TRT Community."

I am down to 84mg/week (12mg/day). I like the idea of finding the smallest effective dose when it comes to any drug. 84mg keeps my total and Free T within a good range, and I feel no different then when I was on 120mg/week.

    Advise on clinics

A prostate MRI came back all-clear. The urologist was satisfied, especially since I have no symptoms that would indicate there is a problem. The timing of everything leads me to believe that TRT caused my PSA to elevate. Although it could have an age related component as well - I am 57.

I Haven’t Slept in 4 years. What to Do?

Melatonin did nothing for my sleep. I tried as high as 40mg before bed. But like you I've also been reading about other health benefits it brings. I'm considering adding it to my list of daily supplements.

I Haven’t Slept in 4 years. What to Do?

I had never heard about a weighted blanket before. Based on your post I bought one. Last night was the first time using it. I can see it will take some getting used to. One of the worst night's sleep in a while for me, and that's saying something. My primary problem is having to wake up...

    Advise on clinics

I was with DEFY for about a year and they were great. I left because my PSA was creeping up above 4.0 and they put my treatment on hold until I was cleared by a urologist. I found a urologist that was up to speed on TRT, so I stayed with him.

I'm debating if I should start TRT?

I was 56 when I started TRT. I was looking for an answer to my afternoon fatigue and brain fog. And my blood levels (both Total T and Free T) were slightly below the reference range. The TRT did not do much to help, although I found that I was able to work out more often - I seemed to recover...

can cytomel by itself be used to treat hypothyroidism

Everyone seems to have their own individual response. In my case, I've tried taking t3 once a day and also splitting the dose. I never felt any difference, so now I just take it once/day first thing in the am and give myself an hour before eating or drinking anything.

Anyone felt better without thyroid meds?

I've been on 35 mcg of liothyronine per day for over a year and I feel fine. My symptoms were afternoon fatigue and brain fog - all resolved when I started the t3. Recently my doc added synthroid because my t4 lab value was low, but I don't feel any different with the t4 added. My labs and...

    I Stopped My Statin

Supplementing with CoQ10 eliminated that issue for me. I was getting terrible lower back aches which made me stop Lipitor a number of time before discovering CoQ10. If you try it, take it with fish oil or a fatty meal. Also, a couple of years ago I had my thyroid levels checked and started...

    Effective Supplements for PCT

My FT3 was at the low end of the range and RT3 was at the high end. I was with Defy at the time and was started on Cytomel, which within a couple of days got rid of the brain fog. Now I'm on a combo of Cytomel and Synthroid, only because my PCP did not like my FT4 levels so low. I don't...

    Effective Supplements for PCT

If you're talking about thyroid hormone levels, I do not believe TRT has a significant effect on those - so you can test for thyroid levels any time. If you're talking about testosterone and the related hormones, the rule of thumb is to wait 6 weeks due to the relatively long half-life of...

    Estradiol levels survey

Since starting TRT my E2 [8 - 35] has been as low as 35 and as high as 63. I don't know why it fluctuates, and I don't feel any different when it does.

    Effective Supplements for PCT

Brain fog was my primary reason for starting TRT, but it did nothing to help. Ultimately I discovered I was hypothyroid and once treated the brain fog lifted. Have you had your thyroid checked?

    Physiological effects of breath control

It's available on Amazon. Here's a part of the description: It changed the way I think about breathing. For example when I go for a run, I now consciously try to breathe less. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it actually improved my performance/endurance. The author explains in detail...

    Penis sensitivity issue

I've tried Melatonin a number of times, starting with 5mg and going up to as high as 20mg. It didn't do much if anything for my sleep, but I did have higher than normal blood pressure after a few days of regular melatonin use. This has happened a few times and each time when I stopped the...

    Guys on daily SubQ

I've been doing daily sub-q for about 5 months. I prefer it because for me its the least painful method, and doing it daily just becomes part of my morning routine. I'm currently doing 14 mg/day, which gets me 885 TT and 19 FT. I tried 16 mg per day and my TT was 1063 and FT was 27. I felt...

    Pregnenolone, missing piece?
