Trying not to fixate on the numbers.

People who don't run think 12 miles per week is a lot -- but it really isn't. It's 30 minutes on the treadmill 4x per week (or less). Driven Mad is not marathon training, this is the kind of running that people do who train to run 5K or 10K runs. That said, adding 4 days of lifting on top of...

    Whey Protein and Lactose Intolerant

Interesting about the ISOPURE, I might check it out. I've been using NOW brand Plant Protein Complex, the creamy vanilla flavor. Absolutely no digestive issues and sometimes I have it 3x per day. It's a blend of pea, hemp, and quinoa. If I do whey protein I get a gut-ache within 10-15 minutes.

    Vegetarian Athletes

Blackhawk, I've experienced the same thing from time to time regarding portion size, weight gain, and trying to get enough vegetarian protein. And there's no getting around the need for a lot of protein to create growth conditions in the body. Animal protein is the easiest, and it works pretty...

Sure Nelson, I was noticing that while some threads have hundreds of threads and thousands of posts, there are the following on the Forum Home: Forum / # Threads Gym Reviews / 0 Personal Trainer Reviews / 1 How-To-Video Reviews / 1 Dietician Reviews /2 Therapists & Coaches Reviews /2 Before &...

No Conlusive Evidence TRT Increases Strength

Yes, I'm sure all pro sports leagues and the world anti-doping agency banned testosterone because it doesn't improve strength or athletic performance at all . . . ;)

Suggestion to weed out or combine forum topics

While some topics contain 1,000 threads, there are others with less than a few hundred, or even less than 50. It might help with the site to reduce some of the visual clutter of topics and scrolling to either delete some of the topics with few threads, or just consolidate them. Just my two cents.

The Golden age of Bodybuilding On Tape!

Wow, great stuff. To me all the modern bodybuilders look like balloon-people. I always wanted to look like Frank Zane. And speaking of the 90s greats, I always admired Bob Paris for symmetry.

    A low-carb diet for beginners

Danger Will Robinson, this is where almost everyone screws up. Bread is made from flour, often has added sugars, and yes, the "whole grain" stuff is just a marketing term. "Stone ground" means absolutely nothing! You cannot do low carb and eat bread. Oats, quinoa, maybe brown rice if you must...

    Testosterone Related Scalp Acne Solutions

Hey Checkdis, I had red spots and fungus on my skin a few years ago as well. At that time my doctor recommended Selsun Blue shampoo. When I applied it to my skin every other day and left it there for a while, then rinsed it off, the fungus was gone in about a week. You might periodically work...

    The great Cholesterol Myth

I just read this book. Good book with an awful title. "Stop worrying about it" is NOT the conclusion to draw from this book, and not the path forward to safeguarding your own health. In contrast, we should all be paying MORE attention to our types of cholesterol and the ratios between them...

    A low-carb diet for beginners

Saul, you're exactly right. It is very confusing at times because glycemic index and glycemic LOAD are two different things. Whole wheat bread sounds good, for example, but the fact that the wheat is pulverized into flour makes it both high glycemic and high-load, because flour is so easily...

Successful Story with Testosterone Cream Protocol

I'm glad you're feeling good but when I read this I get the exact OPPOSITE of a success story. This sounds like a laundry list of all the typical problems people have with gels and creams and would put me off even attempting it. You spent (wasted?) 18 months on bad creams. A year and a half of...

Bananas: A Possible Key to Preventing Atherosclerosis

I've learned over the years to take mouse studies with a pretty large grain of salt. If animal studies were easily translatable to humans we'd have no need for human trials. I'll continue to eat avocado though and feel good about it!

    Testosterone Related Scalp Acne Solutions

Checkdis, I have rosacea-related acne on my head that is persistent and never seems to go away. It would be under my hair, but I'm bald, so it is readily visible. Some things I've done recently that seem to help: 1 - I have been using Nizoral shampoo (rubbing it on my face and leaving it for 5...

Skinny Fat - Help me get in shape.

I replied before but it disappeared, so here's another try that's shorter. Starting Strength works but you have to stay on it and EAT. If you aren't 200 lbs at your height, there is nothing there to "cut". You need groceries and heavy lifting. You probably got fat last time because your carbs...

    IronKnight's body recomposition challenge

Cutting calories and losing weight usually doesn't go hand-in-hand with growing muscle. It is possible though if you're un-trained (with 30% bodyfat you're basically untrained). Also TRT should help you hold on to muscle so that is less of a worry. Losing fat is your #1 goal. All that said, the...

Different schools of thought between doctors

I just went through this myself, and my Endo asked me any number of questions to try to get to the root of secondary hypogonadism. What was the result of that conversation? It is unusual for a 29 year old to be low, but not impossible. Are you overweight, taking other meds, have sleep apnea? It...

    Daily shot protocol change?

The half-life of Testosterone Cypionate when injected intramuscularly is approximately eight days. https://www.drugs.com/pro/testosterone-cypionate.html The testosterone will break down over time, no matter when you inject it. The whole point of an 8-day breakdown is so that you only need to...

    Surviving Propecia

I think the greater risk is that Propecia is just a waste of money and does next to nothing. I was kinda-sorta interested in this "post-propecia syndrome" until I read the quote by one of the "doctors": "Gynecomastia in men taking this drug is proven. " LOL. Yes it is probably true that for...

Good thoughts, thanks. My iron, calcium, etc. were all normal. I'm waiting for results on a recent vitamin D test. Supplement-wise, is there much to be done to resolve elevated hematocrit?

Rosacea, facial redness (acne?) on low dose compounded testosterone cream - can't figure out?

My rosacea flushed 4 hours after my testosterone injection and I suspected an allergic reaction, so at my last injection I swallowed a Benadryl tablet after the shot, and what do you know no flushing. I've been using the Nizoral shampoo on my face for about a week (every other day for 5-10...

    Topical Propecia online?

I used finasteride for male pattern baldness when it first came out. I used topicals at first, and later pills. In my opinion finasteride is too weak to do much of anything, except perhaps for women who are losing hair or for men with very, very mild hair loss. I had a serious male pattern...

Rosacea, facial redness (acne?) on low dose compounded testosterone cream - can't figure out?

Agreed. The flush yesterday seemed to last for about 2 hours and then diminished. I exercised also and I think that might have helped me get over the hump. At my next injection I think I'll experiment with a dose of benadryl beforehand just to see if an antihistamine is all that's needed. It...

mlongtin, Damn, I injected for the first time ever today and what do you know, facial flush. It feels like niacin flush except not as intense. My face is visibly red It is exactly 4 hours since I injected, and the redness is in my cheeks and forehead, exactly the places rosacea flares. Dang...
