Does anybody here suffer from pssd after taking antidepressants?

Some doctors are clueless as to the side effects of the meds they prescribe. 17 years ago, a psychiatrist prescribed lithium and it was slowly titrated. When I hit 450 mg, I began to experience light and sound sensitivity, then, a couple of days later, uncontrollable movements; akethesia. In...

    Anastrozole effects in the brain

But was it established that you have a low sperm count? I have read that exogenous testosterone can impair a man's fertility though I don't know if it's automatically a given.

Is splitting the dose really necessary?

I was doing 100 mg IM, weekly, for two months and not seeing any tangible improvements(erectile function, weight loss). Switched to 34 mg IM, EOD. At 6th week labs, my TT and FT both had dropped nearly 30 points.(100 mg IM TT 1064 FT 225 vs. EOD TT 1032 FT 191). SHBG is 34, IIRC. Back to...

DESSICATED THYROID CONTINUES HAVING ZERO EFFECT ON TSH; ELEVATED FT3, NORMAL FT4

Other than iodized salt, eggs and seafood, thyroid hormones(T3 & T4) contain iodine as part of their chemical structure. I'm no expert; just another seeker on the journey to improved health and function. Low iron or ferritin can negatively impact T4 to T3 conversion. Low cortisol the same...

DESSICATED THYROID CONTINUES HAVING ZERO EFFECT ON TSH; ELEVATED FT3, NORMAL FT4

But if T4 is metabolizing to RT3, T3 uptake is being blunted. I was doing NDT, then switched to T3/T4 drops. I seemed to be doing fine(no labs yet), but a day and a half ago, I had constipation, a painful hip, dry skin and itchiness all over. I've stopped those drops and now started on T3...

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

I do think about that, LOL! My wife thinks I'm crazy because I'm not squeamish about needles. I was when I was younger. The doctor I was going to helped me get over my fear of needles, basically telling me it was nothing. He did blood draws. So, now 50 years on, if injecting into my penile...

Relationship Between Higher PSA and Higher SHBG

My SHBG was 34. PSA over the past 3 to 4 months; 4.95>4.45>4.28, last week. 71,(72 in May) with mild BPH. Appointment with my urologist in two weeks.

Individualized differences based on carrier oils used for Test Cyp?

It could be. I can't tolerate cottonseed oil, that's why I'm prescribed test E. Tried test prop from Empower and didn't feel right, so could be the grapeseed oil or benzyl alcohol. Never had Keith Richards' genes, LOL.

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

OWW! I vaguely considered it. If my only option is Trimix,(which is my only option)I'm okay with injecting into my johnson.

    Is Maintaining Morning Erections Important?

Contrarian opinion; There isn't a 'supposed to' regarding age and total and free testosterone. If the man is feeling and functioning well and his general labs are within range and, importantly, his doctor is okay with what he or she sees, no problem.

DESSICATED THYROID CONTINUES HAVING ZERO EFFECT ON TSH; ELEVATED FT3, NORMAL FT4

On stopthethyroidmadness.com some people are using hydrocortisone to improve adrenal function and uptake of T3 & T4. Not recommending that, just relating what I've read. It's good you're seeing a knowledgeable or open minded doctor. Some people do well on a larger amount of T4 with a small...

DESSICATED THYROID CONTINUES HAVING ZERO EFFECT ON TSH; ELEVATED FT3, NORMAL FT4

Iodine is part of the structure of thyroid meds. T4/4 molecules of iodine. T3/3 molecules of iodine. My quick take is that you're still hypothyroid and perhaps, secondary hypothyroid(hypothalamus/pituitary) and if you are dealing with thyroid hormone resistance or HPT malfunction, two grains...

Age 65 HRT full stop and Tamoxifen

Have you had an MRI of the cervical spine? An old friend was experiencing weakness, trouble walking, falling down, urinary and bowel incontinence. He was referred to a neurologist and the MRI showed that he had two herniated discs/spinal stenosis in the C-spine, impinging on several nerves...

    HCT sublingual as standalone therapy

I don't know which Quest free T is ordered by my urologist. Labs a few months ago, on 100 mg, IM, once weekly, had a TT of 1064 and free T of 225. Switched to MWF, 34 mg, IM. Used Discounted Labs after 6 weeks. TT 1032, free T 191. Libido is strong on MWF schedule, taking my shot at 6 a.m...

    HCT sublingual as standalone therapy

Not a surprise that your free test is quite low, given your total test. It's low normal. I've never taken HCG but unless it's established that your testicles aren't producing enough testosterone(primary hypogonadism) I don't know if HCG injections are appropriate. I concede I'm not...

Individualized differences based on carrier oils used for Test Cyp?

As I previously posted, I wonder why other oils, such as safflower, olive or canola aren't utilized, especially the organic versions. Empower uses grapeseed but when I used their test prop, I didn't feel right. Or it could have been the benzyl alcohol preservative.

Individualized differences based on carrier oils used for Test Cyp?

Why Test CYP instead of Test E? My urologist and I discussed this when I couldn't tolerate cottonseed oil. Both cyp and E are structurally similar. Thanks.

    Memory Loss on TRT

Thyroid. If a man has secondary hypogonadism, which is most of us, it's a malfunction in the pituitary/hypothalamus, which means there could be secondary hypothyroidism which isn't necessarily reflected in a thyroid panel. We know that most doctors will say you're 'normal' even if lab values...

    Dementia - Alzheimer's

My wife worked there for 42 years, working her way up from clerical to assistant to the director of the Clinical Center. I was in-patient psychiatric in 1991. We met a few months before my discharge. It's a possibility. She has mixed feelings about leaving Florida, though she at first didn't...

That's it. Kenny, you, Cataceous and Vince all provide good and compelling information but as you wrote, "Unfortunately, you cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped." At the moment, that's what I'm dealing with. Perhaps, if my wife had a knowledgeable doctor, whether a primary or...

    HCT sublingual as standalone therapy

Your free T was in the 400's? Not a mistake, since those of us on T don't see a number like that unless we're taking high doses. Basically, find another doctor or as @Systemlord recommended, contact Defy. They do telemedicine. Treating by lab numbers versus symptoms is the hallmark of a...

Individualized differences based on carrier oils used for Test Cyp?

For me, cottonseed oil is poison, whether food grade or used in test cyp. That's why my doctor prescribes test E. I don't believe there's any specific reason using cottonseed oil other than it was the first commercially produced seed oil, thus readily available. The Pennsylvania Center for the...

Drop in free T on EOD

Previously, on 100 mg, weekly, my free T was 225. Changed up after two months because I was feeling depleted five days out. Went to MWF, 34 mg, IM. Latest labs through Discounted showed a decrease in total(1064 to 1032) with free T down to 191. Now doing 40 mg, MWF and will recheck in six or...

    Dementia - Alzheimer's

Vince, I do appreciate your sharing what you know. Again, she's not into trying anything, whether dietary changes or supplements. Maybe with a better, knowledgeable doctor, she'd be amenable but not with me. And, if she took something at my suggestion and she had a bad reaction to it, that...

    Dementia - Alzheimer's

Thank you, Vince. I watched a TED talk by a physician whose husband has dementia and that was the topic of her talk. My wife, though, is resistant to anything outside her comfort zone. My primary, who is also a caregiver, counseled me that if someone is resistant, there's nothing that can be...
