New here! 57 year old needing TRT

I prefer IM. That said, if the protocol works, it's the right one. I hope you tolerate tadalafil. I'm in the 25% who don't tolerate erectile meds. I get moderate to severe headaches, as well as gastro problems, fatigue and mood problems. I wish I could take one of them. My erectile...

80 year old women with stage 4 kidney disease can she..

That has to be difficult for you, Vince, as you've taken charge of your health and gained much knowledge but can't help your father, unless he wasn't interested. You do what you can for him.

Future FDA restrictions on trt use?

I have Prime, so Amazon is the first place I look. I was considering another try with NAC, as it has anti-depressant and mood stabilizing properties. Used to communicate with professor & M.D., Michael Berk in Australia, who did groundbreaking research on it for bipolar. I didn't respond well...

Most Male Suicides in US Show No Link to Mental Health Issues

It does. For those researchers to say that those boys, teenagers and men who took their lives didn't have diagnosed depression or some other mental health problem isn't just sloppy research; it's a horrible insult to those lives lost and to their families and friends. Yes, there could have...

Most Male Suicides in US Show No Link to Mental Health Issues

Nelson, there aren't any words that can lessen your pain and the pain of your family. I grieve with you. You know I'm afflicted with treatment resistant bipolar and I take any suicide, personally. I've endured those thoughts since I was 19(72, now). Some days are worse than others.

massive drop in free T - help

If the testosterone is legit, not UGL, I don't believe it would lose its potency. My West Ward Test E has an expiration of 7/2023 and if I had an unopened vial that was a year old, I wouldn't toss it. I've read that medications can still be viable beyond their expiration date.

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

BP issues for me seem to be stress related(marital, wife's dementia, bipolar illness, non-restorative sleep).

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

Yesterday, I took 100 mg of DHEA. Later in the morning, at my urologist, one hour drive up I-95, his nurse took my blood pressure. Everytime I go to a doctor, my BP is high, but not at home. The nurse told me my BP was 116/70. I can't say it was the DHEA, but certainly, coincidental. Dosing...

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

Great to read this! Did your doctor recommend DHEA or did you try it based on your own research? Higher dosing, from what I've read, seems to be associated with its anti-depressant action. Low dose for me, 25 mg, seems to accentuate my moodiness and irritability. When I read a post where...

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

Wonder if it's filler related, though usually it's rice flour. Just my musing. Better not to take it. Some years ago, had 10 mg capsules from Swanson. I'd been reading about micronized DHEA and pregnenolone. Opened the capsules and put them in a spice grinder to make a fine powder, which...

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

The doctor who discovered DHEA, Dr. Etienne Emile Baulieu, 94 years old and still active, suggests, for good health and longevity, everyone should take 25 mg, daily, which is what he does. I don't believe he knows something we don't know but for whatever reason(s), some people don't tolerate it...

Switching From Daily To EOD or Anything Else

Your detective work shows how, sometimes, we have to be our own doctors. I had a similar experience with K2/Mk4. I'd been reading, a couple of years ago, on Ray Peat Forum, that high dose K2/Mk4(45 mg or higher, daily) has been shown to increase testosterone. I tried it. Within a few days...

Does depression from low testosterone feel different from "regular" depression?

I've experimented with DHEA many times and it always leads to lowering of my mood and irritability yet my labs(age adjusted/72, here) come in between 185 and 230. Not great at all. I like pregnenolone but I quickly gain weight and either fat or water retention around the waist. It does...

New here! 57 year old needing TRT

Never had issues with HCT. I've been on various doses and injection schedules. Also never was on HCG. Not concerned with fertility nor size of my testicles, but I read that Dr. Shippen would prescribe it as a mono therapy for men who didn't have overt hypogonadism.

Future FDA restrictions on trt use?

I written about the disparity between the cost to manufacture a drug in India and what it ends up costing in the US. Four years ago, my former primary back in Maryland related a conversation he had with an upper level person at BC/BC in DC. This person told him that they pay out more for drugs...

Future FDA restrictions on trt use?

From naturalproductsinsider.com Why has NAC been banned from Amazon? Amazon confirmed this week it's in the process of removing from its website dietary supplements containing NAC (N-acetyl-L-cysteine). FDA last year asserted in warning letters that NAC couldn't be lawfully marketed in...

Help me understand more than I do now

I learned this when I read one man's experience with Kaiser on another site, years ago. When his doctor left the exam room, the computer was still open, so this man looked and the criteria for prescribing testosterone was 240 or less. Agree with what you're saying and if a Kaiser doctor told...

Future FDA restrictions on trt use?

Whether under Dems or Republicans, the FDA, for decades, has been, IMO, in the pocket of Big Pharma. It took them 20 years to approve Glucophage(metformin). Lithium, 10 years, I believe. Nebido has been used throughout Europe for a couple of decades? Though the FDA greenlighted it, doctors have...

Help me understand more than I do now

Kaiser's criteria for testosterone replacement is 240 or less, so if you're 241, in their eyes, you're normal. Hated Kaiser but it was my wife's health insurance years ago in Maryland, until I qualified for Social Security Disability, then received Medicare and obtained my own insurance.

Switching From Daily To EOD or Anything Else

Thank you. Yes, have a BP cuff that wraps around the upper arm. A few years ago, because of multiple high BP readings at my doctor's office, he asked me to take daily readings. At home it was always well within normal; 110/120 over 70. Anxiety is a component of bipolar illness and my anxiety...

Switching From Daily To EOD or Anything Else

Thank you. Going to my urologist next week and there will be new labs. I know that beta blockers can worsen ED. I can only suspect the daily shots were responsible but I wouldn't say it with certainty. The stress I'm living with, in addition to bipolar illness, is enough to affect my BP...

I was doing 16 mg, daily, IM, Test E. Near the end of the second week, I wasn't feeling right. Almost daily low grade headaches(base of the skull/neck). Checked my BP. High. 140's/70's to 150's/70's. I don't have any history of hypertension. Stopped. Within three days, BP back to...

    Blood Pressure Spiking

Regarding BP; I've been doing 16 mg daily IM Test E for a couple of weeks. Now seeing my BP spiking. Don't know if there's a connection. Didn't have this on any other injection protocol. Dealing with significant stress right now. I'm just trying to sort it out since I didn't have BP issues...

    Newbie with Concerns

I'm not the most knowledgeable person but I'll weigh in. The first thing is to post all your labs ordered by your doctor. Without them, no one can give you any kind of opinion, though I have some thoughts. You were prescribed .5 cc/mL of testosterone cypionate, which would be 100 mg per...

The Effect of Sleep on Your Hormones, Erections, Body and Quality of Life

My sleep has been wrecked for 18 years from untreatable bipolar illness. I don't doubt it's impact on my ED, though there were longstanding marital issue, too. Some sleep problems are self-created. I congratulate you on getting your sleep back on track.
