maximum age: Can you be too old to continue with TRT

Dr Eugene Shippen in his book The Testosterone Syndrome said he started treating his golfing pal at 80 after blood test showed his T had dropped considerably so, I would think there is no age limit to start with proper test and symptoms.

    Recent labs, not feeling well

Vince you are welcome Bro! I've learned so much about high RT3 and thyroid hormone levels since I had the blood test done in Feb. Been with Defy and on T therapy for 3 years now and even when my T, FT, E2, etc. were optimized, felt something was missing and kept looking for the piece to the...

Here is a good explanation of high Reverse T3 - symptoms, causes and how to treat it. Not all causes are iron related so, you can go thru this and see if you can identify a cause. https://www.restartmed.com/reverse-t3/ Another excellent source on...

    Recent labs, not feeling well

Vince nope I'm on Cytomel right now and just started this on 2/28, no other thyroid meds waiting blood test in May. Armour is mostly T4 with some T3 so it just depends on why you are taking the Armour.

    Recent labs, not feeling well

It would be helpful to know your ferritin levels. Something other than Testosterone is causing your fatigue since your levels are fine. If it were me, I would run all the necessary test to be safe and rule out anything hidden. Good luck!

    Recent labs, not feeling well

See if you can schedule an appointment with Dr. Calkins, I would bet you can see him sooner. He is treating me for my high Reverse T3 caused by low ferritin/iron from frequent blood donations and a terrible sinus/flu infection in January. He only ran 4 test that I got a script for, took to...

Recent labs: HIGH Estradiol. Causing sleep issues?

Although your E2 is elevated a bit, your TSH went from 2.190 pre treatment to 4.130 last lab test. You definitely have something going on with your thyroid that needs further blood test to identify the problem. Low T and Hypothroidism symptoms are like twins.... Good link here...

TRT not effective after 8 weeks

TSH is of little value when checking the thyroid function. Your Free T4 at 1.38 is at the bottom of OPTIMAL ranges. 1.4 to 1.77 is optimal and if I were in your shoes and feel the way you do, I would ask my Dr. to have the the remaining thyroids ran especially the Free T3, T3 and Reverse T3...

TRT not effective after 8 weeks

If you have had a Full thyroid panel done with RT3 testing and everything is good to go it maybe a reaction to the oils used. Conflicting advise from websites.

Reason I did find this link to high estradiol and sleep - http://www.peaktestosterone.com/High_Estradiol_Symptoms.aspx However no mention of night sweats. All your symptoms MAYBE thyroid related. I definitely know poor sleep is a symptom. Have you ever had a complete thyroid panel? May be...

https://www.excelmale.com/forum/showthread.php?14288-Are-you-HYPOTHROID-Answer-these-questions-and-see Excellent post by Orrin.... Your symptoms are NOT testosterone related. I would order full thyroid panel especially reverse T3. Hopefully Defy will include this in all their pre and post...

Are you HYPOTHROID? Answer these questions and see....

Orrin I think would be a good sticky for every category on Excelmale. Too many of us have symptoms of low T and think it’s the answer when it’s not- it’s the thyroid. What I like about this website is she has links to every clinical study to support her claims and symptoms. Great post!

Second Test(Full Panel) Update. High SBHG and Estradiol

Based on your symptoms if it was me knowing what I know now I would have a complete thyroid panel done. Hypothyroidism and low testosterone symptoms are very much identical. Here is a good link from a thyroid expert: https://www.restartmed.com/thyroid-symptoms-men/ Too many of us think...

Fatigue/depression/low libido and pseudo gyno - full blood panel inside [25 y/o male]

tizout you've obviously got a thyroid problem. Your TSH before taking anything was 1.4 which is in a good range. Your TSH on the last blood test was 0.12 which means you are probably more hyperthyroid. Also, your FT4 of 16.6 pmol/L or converted to ng/dl is 1.29, basically at the very bottom...

Upcoming Defy appt - feeling tired

Your Reverse t3 is exactly what mine was when tested back in February. Had a severe flu/sinus infection in January and felt like I had been run over by a Mack truck after it cleared up so, got Defy to run full thyroid labs. Had my consult with Dr. Calkins and he prescribed Cytomel 3 x day -...

    New Here - Lyme Disease/Low T

Petemax an endocrinologist is NOT who you want to see. The majority have no clue on how to treat low T and high Reverse t3. As I mentioned in previous post, call Defy Medical and get started with them. Dr. Saya and Dr. Calkins both are well trained to think outside of box of the AMA...

New Blood Work from Dailies of Test + HCG for 3 Months Now

Storm, you will never identitfy you problem until you do a full Thyroid Panel. Why our experts miss this is beyond me. Upcoming Defy appt - feeling tired

I would definitely ask for a full thyroid panel as Chris suggested. Just because your TSH of 1.29 is in the labs range does not mean there is something else going on with you thyroid since you are feeling tired and have problems waking up. I believe a full thyroid panel should be included...

    New Here - Lyme Disease/Low T

Defy Medical in Tampa Fl is where many members here get their medical advice, meds, refills, etc. I have been with them since 2015 and very very satisfied after trying my PCP, Endocrinologist, another T treatment center with no positive results. You can look here: https://www.defymedical.com/...

    New Here - Lyme Disease/Low T

Can anyone help read my thyroid results?

Your Reverse T3 should be less than 15 and yours is 29.4. Causes of high RT3 are low iron, chronic illness like the flu, continued use of beta blockers of over 3 years, etc. Here is an excellent explanation and how to treat it by Dr. Westin Childs: https://www.restartmed.com/reverse-t3/...

    29 y/o considering TRT

Until you get your Reverse T3 lowered to Less than 15, your symptoms will not improve. I would do that first along with your Testosterone shots. You can keep ignoring it if you want - its up to you. I know - I've been there and, its no fun going thru the fatigue, loss of libido, etc. I'm...
