    Needing advice----normal Total T, low free T

Agree with what Vince said. Your thyroid is not optimal based on your 12/2017 results of T4 at .085 (.062-1.28) It needs to be higher and you have not posted any further thyroid labs as was recommended back in December. Without a healthy thyroid levels, testosterone therapy will NOT work -...

Going with Defy, I can't do this on my own anymore.

Defy can certainly pinpoint what's causing your ED and fatigue. I would recommend you have them include a full thyroid panel with your pre-treatment blood test. Should at least have TSH, FT4, FT3, Reverse T3 and antibodies. Defy does treat low T and also low thyroid function which sets them...

    Opinion Needed About Taking Testosterone

Agree with what Vince said. I would post your thyroid labs with ranges. At a minimum is TSH, FT3, FT4, Reverse T3, TPO Antibodies. With testosterone levels that you have your symptoms should not be testosterone related IMO. We have some very good thyroid members here who can help...

    Huge drop in testosterone

Normal is a typical MD’s response when they aren’t trained in proper treatment of symptoms versus blood test. You definitely need to concentrate first on lowering your Reverse T3. It needs to be less than 15 as MarkM pointed out. At least you were tested which most MD’s don’t. Here is a...

Almost one year on TRT... struggling to find balance

Do I Have Primary or Secondary Hypogonadism or is it Thyroid?

Good point Mark.... I missed the antibodies and so did his endo.... KenLowT I don't know where you are located but, you aren't getting the proper advice from your endo IMO.... Many members here use Defy Medical or Primebody both can properly manage your low T and low thyroid...

Do I Have Primary or Secondary Hypogonadism or is it Thyroid?

Your T4 and T3 thyroid numbers are low. I know your endo said they were "normal" but, normal and "in range" is like testosterone. Here is some very good information on what is normal and what is "OPTIMAL" from a very good thyroid MD - Dr. Westin Childs...

can cytomel by itself be used to treat hypothyroidism

Would genetics play a part of the cause? I certainly don’t know because in my parents era thyroid was never heard of. Maybe our great medical society putting fluoride in water and removing iodine from salt has had an effect.

    Starting to question my therapy

I would first have a sleep study done to see if you are suffering from sleep apnea. Poor sleep can hammer your hormones. Next thing I would do is have a full thyroid panel done along with other suggested Testosterone related test. Here is a great link of symptoms of both Low T and low Thyroid...

    90 day labs....HIGH E....what now???

Agree but, they are no different than a normal PCP. You have to be an advocate for your own health first. Biggest question is how do you feel? I had an old MD tell me one time he didn't care about blood test but, how I felt. I thought that was so unusual and so right on! How you feel should...

    90 day labs....HIGH E....what now???

BigBam I would have them look at your thyroid numbers. Your T4 is low and RT3 slightly above optimal. See this link https://www.restartmed.com/normal-thyroid-levels/ You may need to see a Dr instead one of their PA’s to get proper treatment. EOD shots for me helps keep my HCT and E2 in line.

Will t4 rise on it's on after stopping t3 med to lower rt3?

Vince you are correct pal. In consult with Dr. Saya he said once T3 meds are stopped, TSH and T4 will return to normal status so, glad to hear that. I'm completely off Thyroid meds and will be interesting to see new labs in few months.

Here is a great source for high RT3. https://www.restartmed.com/reverse-t3/ You will never feel good as long as it’s over 15 and your T3 is in upper 80% of range. Defy can help you with your Thyroid and testerone.

Negative issues with TRT..How many of you?

As many members said, finding the right doctor is very very important. Also, educate yourself by reading several of the very best books on the market for testosterone therapy. Nelson's book is a must, also Dr. Morganthaler and Dr. Chrisler have excellent books as well. A few of us discovered...

I need help fighting a T-mil doctor, need as much legal advice as I can get.

You haven't signed anything so therefore you are not liable for any unpaid portion of what he claims you owe. I would tell him if he doesn't stop harassing you, you will report him to the state medical authorities as Orrin suggested.

can cytomel by itself be used to treat hypothyroidism

Vince thats amazing that your T4 actually went DOWN on Synthroid. May be the fillers in it or not high enough dosage. Here is good information from Dr. Childs who likes Tirosint T4 med better than Synthroid. https://www.restartmed.com/synthroid-weight-loss/ In this article he discusses why...

12 - Week TRT BW - Need Help

Here is a good reference: http://rt3-adrenals.org/t3_medication.html For me, I was told to start out 5mcg in am upon rising, 5 mcg lunch, 5 mcg mid afernoon all 30 minutes before food. If no change in symptoms in a week, up to 10mcg am, 10mcg lunch and 10 mcg pm and go up from there after a...

    Question about TRT

Ghost could you get a copy of the blood work and post since estradiol at 300 ng whatever surely sounds high. That way we can look at the ranges. Also probably the wrong estradiol test. Hopefully he pulled your free t as well. Free T is very important.

Bumping up T and testing SHBG

Susie has your husband ever had a full thyroid panel? Low thyroid levels can mimic low T levels. I ask that because you mentioned his T3 is always very low. Here is a great website and recommended test which are T4 T3 RT3 and antibodies. Pay close attention to RT3 which most doctors don’t...

New Member - Pre-Treatment Labs... Input Welcome

A blood test is what is going on in your blood at the time you have your blood draw. It is not a trend, its a pretty reliable fact. What your blood levels were 6 months ago has no bearing on what your blood levels are when you have blood drawn. From what I have learned, you can't fix a...

Biggest question is how do you feel? If you have good energy, libido, positive thoughts not depressed, sleep good, no body aches then you can go the natural route. I had a smart DR tell me once he didn’t care about blood test but how I felt. Pretty astute I thought and very wise. IMHO, your...

New Member - Pre-Treatment Labs... Input Welcome

Find a new Doctor and start taking a T3 med. Your RT3 is not going away and it won’t get better until you take positive action. Dr Childs covers this pretty well. Your primary DR may prescribe this and you can at least get started.

Will t4 rise on it's on after stopping t3 med to lower rt3?

Yep Dr Calkins did during consult. Started out with 5mcg am and mid afternoon. Worked up to 10 and 10. Probably could have gone higher but it worked anyway. Pretty much followed this: https://www.restartmed.com/reverse-t3/
