Effects of Major Antihypertensive Drug Classes on ED

I have had good luck with Lisinopril (ACE inhibitor), but everyone is different. Definitely worth experimenting with your doctor. I was on HCTZ (diuretic) for too long. It worked well, but the sides were bothersome. Terrific research available on this site so you know what to request.

T-Cyp dosage reduction - how much fatigue or other adverse effects?

Following up on what Cat said, when I injected once per week my hematocrit was up around 50. I have now switched to 3x per week (same rough dosage) and it's down around 46. I definitely feel better injecting more frequently.

    Long-Distance Running

I am a long distance runner so I can only offer my own story (study of n=1). When I was in my late 30's and early 40's I was running a lot of marathons (2-3 per year). After a few years my T levels dropped into the 300's. My mileage was in the 30-40 range per week. Coincidence? Normal...

    Elevated cortisol causing issues?

I just got my recent six month labs from my hormone doc. All my major categories were in the solid end of the ranges, but my cortisol was near the high end of the range. He noted this, but just basically asked if I was having a period of elevated stress. (Aren't we all right now?). He said...

A few questions on hormones and erectile dysfunction

The fact that you get very little morning wood would indicate that there might be a physical or hormonal issue in play. Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night with a very hard erection?

    Hello, 60yo starting TRT.

Welcome aboard! As a fellow "skinny runner guy", TRT has been a boon for my overall health and well being (especially sexually). I started at 47 and now am 53. I agree with all of the advice above. Wait and see on HCG. I found I did not need it. Also, reading posts here it seems hard to...

    Shockwave Therapy for Penile Enhancement

Thanks for sharing.. I did 12 shockwave sessions last year with my doctor (who gave me nice price break since he just purchased his machine). I did find them to be helpful (especially right after the treatments), and I think I have had a nice boost in erection quality over the last 12 months...

    TRT increasing blood pressure?

I had mildly elevated BP before starting TRT (age 47 at the time). Healthy lifestyle, long time runner. TRT didn't make it go up anymore, but I am on a current does of 90mg - 100mg per week text cyp. (divided by 3 doses). I have had good luck with Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor. I was on a...

    Tadalafil (Cialis) minimum effective dose...

There might be a bit of the placebo factor at play. That is a really low dose to have that dramatic effect. But, hey, its the result that counts! If you really do respond that well, PDE-5 inhibitors will be great to have in your arsenal. The lower the better so their effectiveness won't...

Viagra or Cialis: Which gets you Harder?

Barry, Loved your comment about "mid game time outs". Well said. I would concur with the other posters. At 53, daily 2.5mg Cialis is great, and 50mg Viagra occasionally insures a long lasting session.

honeymoon phase? Is the forum overly negative? is anyone on here happy with TRT?

That is way too early too draw labs and make any conclusions. Wait six weeks and allow your body to normalize the external T. As someone who has been on a pretty simple regimen of IM Test Cyp for six years, I am very happy with the results. (Sure it took some tweaking, but nothing major)...

    Blood pressure issues

Lisinopril is in the the class of hypertension drugs known as ACE inhibitors. No side effects for me, although 5% of folks develop a dry cough (pretty rare). I was initially on a diuretic (water pill). I didn't like that one due to excessive urination and some modestly reduced sexual...

    Blood pressure issues

I felt the same way you did, but nothing naturally would bring my BP back down. I never really got that high, but I know what even modest hypertension can do over the long term. Trust me, after TRT and other supplements, a tiny little pill of Lisinopril is nothing. That being said, if you end...

    Blood pressure issues

On that low of a dose, I wouldn't assume the TRT is the cause. I would spend some time looking at other possible issues. However in my case, I never really found a root cause other than age related hypertension. I am consistently at 140/85 without meds. That was the case before TRT as well...

Experience Pinning EOD vs Every 3.5 Days?

I am dosing 30-35mg Test Cyp every 2.5 days. So between 90-100 mg per week. Madman is right (as usual). You must pay careful attention to FT levels as you increase frequency otherwise you run into bothersome sides. My last lab had me at FT of 147.8 pg/ml (range of 46.0 - 225 pg/ml)...

Experience Pinning EOD vs Every 3.5 Days?

No problem, happy to help. My hematocrit actually went down with more frequent injections. I went from around 50 to down around 46.0 these days. But remember, I am trying to keep my total T at peak around 800, not any higher

Experience Pinning EOD vs Every 3.5 Days?

Just chiming in: I started once per week, then went to twice a week. Now I am injecting once every 2.5 days. Surprisingly, I noticed a nice bump on that last switch. Twice a week I was still getting a "trough" period at the end where sexual function declined for a day or so. I am very...

Your family sounds like mine! Tons of heart related issues on my father's side, and almost none with my mom (who is now 80). Although both had high Bp. If it makes you feel any better, I am former marathoner that still runs about 20 miles a week and I follow a pretty clean diet (Age 53). In...

    Losartan & High BP

I don't have too many specific answers for you, but have generally had good results with Lisinopril as my primary BP med. I was doing better when I was on combo pill, Lisinopril plus a diuretic. However, the sides from the water pill drove me crazy. I have never heard about the connection...
