The FDA Ended Your Access to More Economical hCG and FSH

@Nelson Vergel and others, any update here? I read this today saying that compounders are banned from producing HCG starting in March: http://www.pccarx.com/Blog/compounding-update-hcg This is horrible if so.

    Is GnRH suppression hurting us?

Unless I'm missing something, they only measured neurogenesis in vitro in the hypothalamus. The other results are in vivo in the rats given GnRH, so could be related to a general rise in hormones. Lots of studies show that estrogen increases neurogenesis, for instance.

    Is GnRH suppression hurting us?

I have heard reports of GnRH analogs such as Triptorelin being used for either “one shot” HPTA restarts or potentially even moderately curing cases of anabolic steroid induced hypogonadism. There is so little data in this area. But maybe the GnRH analog could cause this neurogenesis- creating...

    Is GnRH suppression hurting us?

As a point of skepticism, it’s not surprising the hypothalamus would see some neurogenesis when exposed to GnRH. That’s where the GnRH is being produced, after all. Like maybe these hypothalamus cells multiply when exposed to GnRH in anticipation of having to produce more GnRH in the future. I’m...

    Statin use and TRT

You didn’t provide enough information for anyone to weigh in really. Your non-HDL-C is around 180 which is high. As Vince says above, if you’d like to see if you have older plaque in your arteries you could get a CAC done. If it’s 0 or very low for your age you might be able to avoid a statin if...

Hcg and levels of LH and FSH

Jayyy is correct, your LH and FSH will be low or zero even if you're on HCG monotherapy. LH is the signal your brain sends to your testicles to produce testosterone. If you're taking HCG you're sending that signal directly and so your brain will stop sending it.

    Target T levels & Defy

I wondered this too. It’s like $40 for total and dialysis free. But all of the other dialysis tests are $400+. I think this is the same Quest test that Dr Thomas O’Connor orders as part of his standard panel and there might have been cross reactivity with nandrolone in at least this case...

    Target T levels & Defy

It turns out I have had equilibrium dialysis performed. These are results from Quest’s lab order code 36170, which is stated to be MS for total testosterone and equilibrium dialysis for free testosterone, as per...

    HCG and sensitivity/libido

For me, 1000IU of HCG per week (500IU E3.5D) was contributing about 350 ng/dL to my total T. I moved from 144mg/week to 168mg/week to get roughly the same values. But this is still a work in progress for me.

    HCG and sensitivity/libido

I’m not sure that anyone knows. I have read about something called Inhibin B and others that HCG activates. For me, with higher dose HCG I “feel” my testicles. It’s like they turn on again. That feeling sort of creates libido in me. Not intending to be too explicit, but it feels like I need to...

    Increase HCG or clomiphene?

I would caution anyone thinking of using any of the research chemical / gray market sites for this right now. None of the vendors who do legit 3rd party testing have enclomid and at least one legit vendor has tested many batches and all have failed. I can’t find any third party testing...

    Lab values and testing

I am not sure what’s going on with your total T labs, but one possibility is that your Free T could be decreasing but your total T is staying the same. The standard free T “direct” lab isn’t super reliable, so people usually also test SHBG at the same time as total T to get an idea. But if you...

Testosterone (or Anastrozole?) Decreased my HDL: What Can I Do?

As a note of clarification, Lipoprotein (a) (aka Lp(a)) is a "bad guy." People with elevated Lp(a) levels, which are almost entirely genetic, face substantially increased risk of CVD. There aren't yet great drugs to lower Lp(a): Lipoprotein (a), an independent cardiovascular risk marker This...

    Target T levels & Defy

Maybe I will get the equilibrium dialysis soon. It would be interesting to see. One thing I cannot explain is that my RIA "direct free testosterone" numbers almost always line up with the Vermeulen calculated free T. This, along with my subjective experience, makes me lean toward trusting...

    Weird blood test results

One possible explanation is an incorrectly run E2 sensitive test. I know others have written about the unreliability (but accuracy, when reliable) of the E2 sensitive test.

Anyone using Tretinoin (Retin-A) for anti-aging or for acne?

I use a small amount of this at night and have for a couple years now. If I use too much my skin gets red and looks worn - like I’m an alcoholic. If I skip a week and then come back to it the same thing seems to happen. It takes a month or two for your skin to fully acclimate to it, but once it...

    Target T levels & Defy

I’m a little on the fence about the accuracy or value of the TruT calculator in the absence of mysterious side effects. For my own labs and symptoms (tracked using Nelson’s TRT Analyzer), the older free T calculated method and the direct free T more closely match my symptoms (numbers relative to...

New to TRT question about drinking

As you hint at (but expanding in case others are wondering), raising HDL may not help, as all studies and methods of raising HDL have shown no benefit. There may not even be a relationship between HDL-C and outcomes at all once LDL-P / ApoB is adjusted for. In the old data sets, ApoB wasn’t...

    So I tried daily injections...

I listened to that episode a while back and I wasn’t sure what to make of a lot of what they talked about. They continually mixed up the units for E2 which made me really confused. E.g. 300 pmol/L is 81 pg/mL which seems more reasonable as something some men could tolerate. They confused ng/dL...

Ceasing TRT Cold Turkey After Three Years - Restart Log

Have you ever considered HCG monotherapy? It seems worth a shot. I liked this video on the subject: this Polish doctor seems to have success with it in his population. If you ever felt okay before your hypogonadism, then HCG mono might be worth a try?

New Protocol, Elevated RHR/Poor Sleep/Eye Floaters. Abort or Stay the Course?

I’m curious, you say you’re not willing to use an AI long term. I’m not either (at this point). Are you worried about cardiovascular effects? That is my only concern. Did you every try an AI (shorter term) and did it alleviate some of your symptoms?

New Protocol, Elevated RHR/Poor Sleep/Eye Floaters. Abort or Stay the Course?

Why are you on nandrolone? I agree with Vince Carter. I would chill out and continue the protocol for several more weeks. It sounds like your hormones are very much in flux. If your blood pressure is fine I would it worry about the elevated RHR in the short term.

MY TEST RESULT HIGH TEST high e2

You didn’t include any information on how you feel, symptoms, etc. No one can really give good advice without it. Knee jerk, I would drop the proviron. It’s not helping your HDL-C and you probably don’t need it?

New to TRT question about drinking

I’m not sure about the hormone effect, but I’ve found myself less in..need (?) of alcohol since starting HRT. A lot of my prior drinking was probably due to anxiety which has since passed. Note that 6-10 drinks in one night is by definition binge drinking and I doubt it’s healthy. I’m sure you...

    Trt and high BP/Hematocrit

I've got another data point on this. I gave blood the other day and when they checked my hemoglobin with the finger test the result was 18.9 (!). A CBC taken a week before said my HBG was 17.1. Then I took a CBC again 4 days after the donation[1] and HGB was 15.6. 1. To make sure my HGB...

Where to get HCG prescription filled?

Empower Pharmacy is a great option. It's probably slightly more expensive than the generic Indian stuff, but the quality difference is absolutely worth it IMO. You can contact them with your Rx or have your doctor do it, I believe. The HCG from empower is very affordable.

Heart issues 10 years in (Left Ventricle Hypertrophy)

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone reading along: a sustained blood pressure >= stage one hypertension (US guidelines), as this poster had, for several years can — and in fact often does — lead to LVH. I read a study that said something like 45% of people with stage one hypertension...

Moving to another country on TRT

I’ve thought about this too as I’m fairly young for this board (35). The good news is that the US is almost the only country where testosterone is so illegal / controlled. In many countries testosterone is OTC, and in others it is not illegal to possess (only to purchase). I can’t think of any...
