Good to hear you're asymptomatic. I've been dealing with low ferritin for months and experienced poor cardio, insomnia, and the brain fog. I quit TRT for over a month and my ferritin went up over 100 but I had the same symptoms so IDK. ♂️
Thanks for the reply. Had b12 checked recently and it was mid range. I'll request the homocysteine levels. I think I described the muscle pump incorrectly. What I should have said was my entire body gets super tight and stiff if I pin over about 0.2mL test.
This is amazing info. I have about 80% of the symptoms you describe. I was abusing AI's for almost 2 years in addition to donating blood regularly. Looking back, I felt and looked good with my E2 in the 30s. Now I'm lucky to be in the 20s and feel and look like shit.
By chance, did your strength...

No, but that's an excellent point and I'll request it. I think my personal experience is a combination of two things: overdonating blood, due to the online TRT company that I was using urging me to donate frequently even though I never had elevated h&h levels AND now possible inflammatory bowel...
Ferritin levels do fluctuate, and it is an acute phase reactant, meaning it can also spike due to things like infection, inflammation, etc. However, ferritin is the most specific lab for assessing iron stores.
You're right that most men do not experience iron deficiency, but it is common to men...
