Estrogen: Definitive answer on E2 testing methodologies

I did the regular E2 with Defy (LabCorp) earlier this month, preparing to see a higher #. I had been using 1 mg anastrazole / wk. It came back @ 7.3, I assume due to the Adex. Now I'm experimenting with EOD sub-q low dose (60 ml) and no Adex. I ordered the ultrasensitive test for next month...

    Total T high .... Free T low

I got these #s from the nurse over the phone each time after bloodwork. Not sure what their reference range is, but I wrote down 35-115 (may have pulled that off the net). FT #s are pg/ml, not %

Labs back. E2 is 7 ! No Adex for several weeks, then .25 mg day after inj. BTW Htc. is 38, probably due to recent blood donation.

    Total T high .... Free T low

Thanks Gene. I'm really looking forward to getting E2 results. For now I've reduced dosage to 90 ml E3.5D and increased Adex to 1.5 mg/wk.

    Total T high .... Free T low

I've had 6 labs this year and my free T has always been in 100-200 pg/ml range with total T ranging from approx. 400-800. I just had labwork last week with Labcorp (through Defy). TT 1312, Free T 42 pg/ml (???). I'm still waiting for E2 results. I'm thinking it's probably the culprit. I've been...

Understanding Your Hormones

Estradiol (E2)

A form of estrogen produced from testosterone. Important for bone health, mood, and libido. Too high can cause side effects; too low can affect well-being.

DHT

Dihydrotestosterone is a potent androgen derived from testosterone. Affects hair growth, prostate health, and masculinization effects.

Free Testosterone

The biologically active form of testosterone not bound to proteins. Directly available for cellular uptake and biological effects.
