Severe hamstring muscle cramps - HCG or Cialis?

Hi all. I've been on TRT for about a year. Officially, I'm at 120mg/week with a low dose AI for much of that period. Perhaps I'm misguided but I procured a UGL HCG source to periodically use in order to keep my testicles functional in case I ever have to stop TRT (supply chain issues, etc.). I also got some UGL Cialis. On Wednesday I took 15mg of Cialis and 500mg of HCG. For the next two days I had severe muscle cramping in my hamstrings (and, to a lesser extent, my quads). It was brutal and sleep was near impossible. It has since subsided (Saturday) though not completely gone. Google searches reveal that people have experienced upper leg cramping using both HCG and Cialis so I guess it could have been either of them. There is also the potential that the stuff wasn't pure and the symptoms were caused by whatever contaminant was in them. I know the ultimate way to find out which one caused it is to try one of them and see what the result is. But the cramping was so bad I'm hesitant to try either. I could ask my doctor for a prescription for either or both to ensure purity though I think HCG is rarely prescribed in Canada.

Has anyone experienced cramping with either of these products? Thanks.

I would say it's the Cialis not the HCG.

The most common side effects with Cialis are: headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. These side effects usually go away after a few hours. Men who get back pain and muscle aches usually get it 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis.Jul 16, 2013

Dehydration/electrolyte imbalance could easily be the problem.

Highly doubtful it was the hCG and although the use of a PDE5 such as tadalafil whether on-demand/daily is known to cause back pain/muscle aches cramping of the quads/hamstrings is not common.

If this is something that happens often every time you take tadalafil on-demand then there is your answer.

Regarding hCG (Pregnyl) although it is not common for many doctors to prescribe with trt if you stress that remaining fertile is important to you most would have no issue.

Even then keep in mind that hCG is not covered by insurance so you would be paying out of pocket ($300 for 3 vials 10 000IU).

The same would apply to sildenafil/tadalafil unless you have a good insurance plan and even then most would not cover the full cost.

Would need to look into deeper depending on whether it is being prescribed for ED, LUTS/BPH.

If you are concerned with using UGL PDE5i then you can easily get pharma grade generics manufactured in Canada for a fairly decent price but nowhere as cheaply as the US lol!

Tadalafil 5 mg daily for $50/month.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I took a more modest 300mg dose of HCG yesterday and no cramping yet so it does look like the Cialis may have been to blame. I'll try the Cialis again next week (when my wife returns from a trip) and see what happens. I don't often get cramps so I don't think it was just a dietary imbalance. These cramps were unreal but I do want to get to the bottom of it because, at 47, I'm going to need Cialis (or Viagra) in the coming years.

Have you ever had your magnesium levels check or do you supplement with magnesium. As you probably know, low magnesium can cause muscle cramps.

I take a lot of magnesium. I'm an insomniac and it helps with sleep. I also supplement with potassium less frequently.
