Help needed regarding TRT (Nebido) and feeling worse

Hi experts,

I have been diagnosed with low T last year around this time and a specialist gave a prescription for Nebido.

My T was about 8 nmol/L. I've requested the nurse to send med all the blood work values so still waiting for them. Symptoms where insomnia, low energy, low mood and somewhat low sex drive. Didn't get much sleep and didn't get to exercise since we have 3 small kids. Also primarily nutrition was vegan.

(In 2016 I had testicular cancer and one testicle was removed.)

Since starting Nebido a year ago nothing really improved. Schedule was initially 4ML/12 weeks but GP increased it to 4ML/14 weeks. About 3 months after starting I started developing PE and having trouble staying hard. This both happens when alone and with the wife. It's getting increasingly bad and affecting my life negatively.

I started working out again a few months back and reintroduced eggs and beef to my diet. No change. Only parameter left is Nebido.

I am both worried I have a incompetent GP (there are no other options where I live) and that my natural T production can't get back to normal.

Any advice or help would be wildly appreciated! Best of day to you

If you don't have access to HRT clinics, I personally would just do what the docs do.
[1] Monitor your own blood pressure
[2] Go get your own hormone panel tests every 3 months at first then 2x a year once dialed in
[3] If you don't have a source you can always home brew
[4] As you get more advanced, you can send your raws for purity testing
[5] Once you start, I'd do sub-q injections every other day. Keeps you levels stable.

Thats not gonna be an option. Not possible get bloodwork done without GP in my country. I can either do what the GP says or quit TRT.

Oh, you guys don't have Labcorp and all that stuff?

I would do this: Go see a doctor and request it from him, have them draw your blood for you. Tell them you do your own TRT and need to know your health markers. They will give you a speech but if your healthy it doesnt matter. This is a very easy thing to do on your own.

If you cant get bloodwork from a doc, order a home finger prick kit via the mail.

There are winning bodybuilders all over the world, you have access to Test, just need to know where to look. The knowledge is all here and online man.

[Note] Watch that IGF-1, if cancer can come back to your balls? Im not sure how cancer works but IGF-1 will grow cancer cells rapidly. Testosterone boosts IGF-1.

So after the initial blood tests, didn't the doctor order some followup tests? Typically 3 months after the starting nebido.

Otherwise, how did the doc justify changing to 14 weeks?

Without us seeing the results of both the starting blood test and at least the most recent blood test, it's impossible to determine what is going on.

Nebido suggested protocol is for injections every 10-14 weeks depending on results, both blood tests and how you are responding.

Though when I first stated nebido, I privately paid for it, and the only tests the doc/hospital required was PSA and an electrocardiogram. Guess they wanted to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead. So they mainly went with my age and symptoms.

Since I was a tourist, followup was up to me. I didn't do any blood tests for 2 years despite being on trt. Sometimes I got the injection in Thailand, sometimes I imported Nebido and self injected. I had gotten a total testosterone blood test 10 years prior to this, I was at 350 ng/dl, strong odds were I was at that level or lower.

My experience is where there is a will there is a way to get things done. The problem usually is, it can cost a lot more to go around the system. (It could even be cheaper).

What country do you live in ?
Possibly I can put you onto a clinic that ships to your country. They operate by phone construction.
It’s expensive but in the end it’s not really

Hi @redbull81
I’m not an expert but I understand you.
I’m on Nebido since a couple of years, I also have one testicle only and that is the main reason I have low T.
I do pretty well with Nebido, having a bit of problem towards the last weeks before my injection.
im currently in 10 weeks interval, my doctor says I’m good and I could have every 12 or 14 weeks but I told him I’m happier with higher levels.
You can always look for another opinion, maybe that is an option, to have another doctor to help you. I know it is hard, I struggled With doctors in the past, now I’m just back with my first doctor.
Where do you live by the way? I’m in Switzerland.
Good luck!
